Players being banned for asking for money now?
Already posted here: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/211741327-Players-being-banned-for-asking-for-money-now-

Posting here in case R* removes post for *breaking rules* and disallowing people to have a conversation on this matter.

I am not a modder.
I am not a beggar.

I only don't view the money givers as badly as many seem to do. The more hostile modders, the ones who disrupt play and just generally act like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s are the ones that need to go.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I heard through a user in game people are getting banned for asking for money even if they don't do anything wrong. So, when this started happening way back when, I remember rockstar saying they would not ban people for getting money by hackers but with that and multiple people talking in steam, I'm beginning to wonder if rockstar is starting to ban people 'just because' with them having our money and not caring. Also, with personal experience with the support team awhile back and how it at times takes an entire month to hear back, I tend to agree with why people are complaining about "not having a reply".

I guess what I'm getting at is....Even if I don't ask, even if I don't even say anything...if I get money from these hackers and proceed to use it (since support sure does take it's time and I don't feel like waiting an entire month just to get a "Hello, we are sorry you are having this inconvenience, can we have *insert needed info here*" and wait yet another month until they take the money, and probably all my money I actually worked for), will I get banned and have to wait another month just to not get a reply back?

If I'm to actually donate and help with the creators of this game, I need to know I'm not going to get banned for doing absolutely nothing wrong, like these people asking for money are not doing anything wrong, if anything just being a nuisance....Unless we're PC and SJW's now...Then I can see why they're getting banned and not being given the answer why.

Asking for money from a modder is willingly exploiting the game and gaining an advantage over other players because of it. You can always be banned for requesting money from a modder because of that, they just didnt enforce it much because it was a pain to investigate. The only ones who don't get banned are those who "unwillingly" receive money from a modder. Not asking for it is taken as unwillingly receiving it and you are not at fault for another players actions.

So basically, it takes blame off the modder and places it onto the asker. They are not actively exploiting anything. If anything, if the modder answers to it, then they are to blame, not the asker. Exploiting something involves actively committing and act that breaches or disrupts gaming mechanics...worst insult they do is disrupt chat with the begging...I'm not big on them, but I am even more hateful of injustice to those who have done no actual harm.

To put it simply, if you don't want to see beggars, go to another server...I'm sure you say that quite a bit as well.

Asking for money is activly supporting cheating, and willingly cheating yourself, just because you aren't the one with the mod doesn't mean your not goign to be held responsible for it. You are asking someone to cheat on your behalf and gaining an advantage over others at your level because of it. Its like if i went to the bank to deposit some money, someone robs the place, and i decide to take a bag of cash for myself. I didn't actively rob the bank but i still got money because of someone else breaking the law so in turn i broke the law.

willingly asking someone to hack the system so they can gain from it IS CHEATING

how stupid are you people

yes very good, should be permaban - get rid of beggars, lazy people and children all in 1 fell swoop

Rockstar has previously stated that you can't be banned for UNWILLINGLY receiving modded money. That should tell you everything you need to know.

Been like that since like Christmas, beg for money, get banned; recieve a ton of money (indicating you just stood there like you was taking it....anyway back on point) and get banned. Have singleplayer mods in the gta v folder, get a ban.

They should permaban any/all cheaters. Game has been impossible to play online in public lobbies since launch.

-Guy robs a store, throws 10 grand at you while running away. You're just an innocent bystander.
-You ask a guy to rob a store, he does so and gives you 10 grand while running away. You're responsible for him robbing that store.

Pretty damn simple.

Some of you don't know what cheating is...also, I was shown this:

You ask a guy to rob the store and he robs it, he gives you money. 'technically' you can be blamed and even arrested, but you'll end up being found innocent because you have no power over other humans, you simply asked a man to do it and he did.

Read the EULA, there's a lot more that they could ban for if they wanted.
