Any Way To Disable Mods?

Hey guys, I just installed GTA 5 today and I realized that my friend had played it on my pc prior with his steam account. However he decided to install a moon gravity gun mod and now it is constantly active without the cheat. Is there any way to locate that file and delete it so that the game can play normally?

-My friend was a dumbass and did not create a back up save of the original GTA game so I do not have the original files to go back to. Can I "delete" the mods but uninstalling and reinstalling?

No, you have to uninstall them. If unsure, just verify the integrity of the files and it will re-download the originals.

If you want to verify and redownload your game's files you have to right click on said game >Properties>Local Files>Verify Integrity of Game Cache

Ok, I did that but for some reason the moon gravity and Star Wars force mod are still active. What do you think?

I don't know if it's the case in GTA but in Skyrim some mods are tied to saves, meaning they keep active even if you disable/uninstall said mod. The only way to "deactivate" the mod is by loading a save file prior to the mod installation. You might wanna try that

No, scripts are tied to saves, and those scripts do nothing without having the actual mod enabled outside of increasing load times and might sometimes mess up other scripts.

Nor will Verifying the game cache do anything since, I assume, the mods in question don't change any files, they just add some.

As for OP, While I have limited experience in modding in GTAV, deleting ScriptHookV.dll and dinput8.dll should solve your problem.

Should you not have those files, or their deletion not solve your problem, A clean re-install will.

All you have to do is go in to the GTA game file and look for the folder scripts and remove it. I am a Modder.

The only way that is possible is if you have more than one copy of the game or the mod is located in your rockstar steam files under Cdrive user- documents- etc Those dont change when you clean install.

I uninstalled it by going to steam and then right clicked on GTA 5 and then clicked the "uninstall game and delete content" option. Like you said, it should have worked. But when I booted the game up after install the mod was still there. Think it was "force powers"? The bodies and vehicles just kind of floated around during cutscenes . (Funny at first, but annoying when missions failed constantly).
