How tf do I downgrade back to the previous version?

I don't play online, I shouldn't have been forced into updating the game, braking my mods in the process. How can I downgrade to the version I had yesterday?

You apply the backups you made before you updated the game.

You find the inevitable youtube videos explaining how to do it in a few minutes/hours that may/may not provide the files necessary to do it.

Find someone else that has the downgrade files - and is willing to send them.

You mess around with steamdb.info and download the older portions yourself.

You turn off automatic updates so in the future - you can see there is an update - and prepare your downgrade/backup.

dont think it will matter anyway because, i left my character in game online untill i was kicked while i watched a film, and the film finished a while after the update was released, so when i tried to go back into online without exiting the game and updating i was dumped back to singleplayer mode but it wasnt making start story mode from the start. after updating its making play the story from the start even after i saved progress.
