Why does it take so long for a public lobby to load?

60-120 seconds..and longer..is far too long a time to load a lobby. What is the brain damage here?

depends on the p2p host if you got a crap host it will take a while :D

This is my main reason why i hated public sessions, loading times taking ages when host has potato internet. Also if there is a lot of players in session it causes FPS drops.

I don't understand it when I play my game it loads instantly. When I'm able to switch between the three characters it's pretty quick. One guy usually is standing out drunk somewhere in his underwear are beating somebody up. One time I switched into one character and he was driving the car.

For better load: ssd... load into single player first then load into online mode. It's taking it's time to load because the amount of content, p2p connection. Cheaters in whatever session you are joining.

solo mode loads quickly. online does not.

I just tried to log online and it loaded quickly after I told my firewall to let it through as it was sitting there waiting for me to respond behind the game screen. I had the alt tab to see it.

This is Rockstar, biggest developer studio but they are greedy and don't wana spend any cent on servers. This is reason why I stop playing GTA, P2P and their the lag and desyc even if you have 15ms ping is ugly. The whole GTA multiplayer is one big trash with hackers, desyc, bugs and glitches. People are angry when they have desync in EfT or others fps but in GTA you have desyc like 200ms - 1000ms normaly. The GTA online is just for masochists.
