Yeah, it was cool in GTA 3 because of the betrayal and revenge story. I preferred the other GTA 6 rumor about 2 siblings on opposite sides of the law. At least that was more original.
Yeah, I was just using those gangs as examples since a lot of gangs have territories in other states, like the bloods and crips. I imagine the Lost MC would also be in Vice City too. Oh yeah, haitians would be great.
That would also be a really cool concept to explore as well, specially if the "good" side of the law was also heavily corrupt which is something GTA has played with quite a bit in the past.
Agreed. They could take inspiration from The Shield. Great show about crooked cops. That could be interesting. One of them a rookie cop in a corrupt task force and the other being the head of a cartel or something.
What I mean is that R* decided to make protagonists of both GTA 5, and Online, good guys. The exception here is Trevor, who is just a psycho, mentally unstable guy. Michael and Franklin though are a different story. They are both forced to commit crimes. In case of Franklin it is Lamar, Simeon. For Michael it's the FIB guy, and Madrazo. Michael and Franklin both don't really want to commit crimes, they are made to do evil deeds to protect themselves.
As for GTA Online, in recent years we've had saving the world from apocalypse in the Doomsday Heist, We have Diamond Casino Heist, motivation for which is to stop the evil Duggan family from taking over. We have Cayo Perico, a.k.a. robbing an unhinged, evil cartel boss, we have the Agency business, where every Payphone Hit is preceeded by a long and tedious explanation of why we are actually the good guys, removing evil from Los Santos. And most recently we are actually working for the IAA, a government organization, as sworn operatives, being the obedient puppets of the state.
If GTA 6 is actually about being a criminal, and not another sob story for simpletons, like GTA 5 was, and the protagonists are interesting people, instead of paper cutouts running left and right, then I have absolutely no problem with the game having not one, but three female protagonists. I just want quality. They don't deliver quality, I'm not buying their game. Simple as.
Yes, I was wondering if anyone would notice..
I strongly think that Rockstar is making a galactic sized mistake by removing the Satire from GTA VI. The Satire in the past GTA games is what made the games iconic and removing that aspect is going to hurt sales. It's like going to the Circus and not seeing the clowns that are there to make you laugh. The fact that Rockstar is going down this route is sad to say the least.
Again, no indication they're removing satire from the games. That's a slippery slope assumption from the fact that they're probably not going to make gender expression the punchline.
Ohh I dunno about that.. I wouldn't say Michael and Franklin are good people.
You could probably say, selfish, greedy and morally grey at best maybe since they do often complain about ♥♥♥♥ getting to out of hand.. though they still go along with it reluctantly.
Both kill and steal for their own self interests and they both choose to take the criminal path over the decent one long before the events of the game start off too.
Mike was a retired bank robber and Frank was a small time car thief who occasionally held up stores at gunpoint if I remember right.
So yeah, not really good guys although it's understandable why some may think that when you compare them to Trevor who is just chaos and degeneracy incarnate lol
I can't speak for the online though, I never played nor had any interest in GTA5 online.
So I would just write everything in the online off as non important/non canon to anything in the franchise's main single play story's.
GTA4 is probably my personal favourite as well.
Probably the closest GTA got to realism with gun and especially car mechanics.
I remember being pretty upset when I played GTA5 the first time and noticed how comically cartoony the car's felt compared to 4.
If GTA6 is going to mimic 4 in terms of seriousness and satire quality then honestly we have nothing to worry about on that front.
Until R* confirm or deny that though I expect people to continue complaining about "wokeness" etc and fighting over it.
