Submarine Light Issue?

So, I'm playing GTA V and I get to the mission where you have to steal the sub, when I go underwater, my frames tank from 100 to the 40-50 range! But if I turn the light off, my FPS goes up like 30~! Does anyone else have this issue?

Lighting/shadows are some of the most expensive things, performance wise.

What are your specs?

If you have shadows on very high headlights (and plenty of other light sources) will generate lots of shadows, causing the performance drop.

GPU: MSI GTX 1080 Seahawk X 8GB @ 2100 MHz

CPU: Intel i7 4790k @ 4.6 GHz

MB: MSI Z97 MPower Max AC

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB DRR3 - 1866 MHz

I was using a mod at the time (Redux), but I removed it and it still drops a huge amount from the surface or with the light off. (Into the 50s)

This is a common issue for a lot of people, only thing you can really do is reduce settings as far as I'm aware.
