Any cars that have a payout of 20,000, I give to staff; when there's no choice, I give the 35,000 payout cars to staff. It's pretty rare that I have two 50,000 cars in the garage at the same time, so I don't mind letting staff drive one, if it ever comes to that.
The-absolute-worst-decisions I ever made was getting a second lift and hiring help. Nothing but a waste of money. Kinda wished I could whip out my baseball bat and bust the guy's kneecaps every time he scuffs a customer's ride.
I'm actually thinking of selling my current shop, to open a new shop without a second lift. I may still have a staff member, for the sake of an npc present in the shop, but they'll never do any deliveries.
Keep in mind that you will need the full price of the shop as well as money for any upgrades that you want to do. After you buy the shop, you will get the trade-in price for your current shop.
