GTA Online: A Restriction Utopia (long *ss rant)
In 2014, I loved GTA Online. It was so fun to get money in the game, to do missions and activities with almost no restrictiuons. It was moderately easy to get money in the game to get some of the most expensive items. 12-hour gameplay sessions easily got me the single most expensive apartment or vehicle in the game. It didn't take as long to load online sessions and games as well. I had so much fun with it and played for almost 200 hours! After a while, I had to spend time doing homework and work that I had stopped playing for a while and eventually took almost 2 years off from playing it on the PS4. After enough updates to the game to almost call it a 2.0 build, I was so excited to get back on it now that I have a gaming PC. Well, they have added ALOT to the game, new heists, VIP work, CEO missions, gunrunning, new cars, new houses, properties and so on. Sound great.....but that's it. In order to get any decent car or property, you need MILLIONS of dollars now and everything and I mean EVERYTHING is inflated now. A dollar in GTA online is now worth about less than half of what it was worth in 2013 and 2014. Having a million dollars now barely gets you anything in 2018. There is more money that you can make than any other time in GTA Online but ofcourse with so many restrictions and fees. You have to pay tens of thousands in a fee to start heists, you have to pay thousands in a fee to run a bunker, you have to pay a thousand dollars a day in a fee for a yacht, buying crates as a CEO costs hundreds of thousands which cuts into profits to the point of almost not being worth it at most. It now seems that with every opportunity there is to make a decent amount of money, there is a huge constraint attached to these ways which makes them almost not worth it. For example, there is an unnecessary rediculously hilariously-made restriction to VIP missions, such as having to be in a public session (ofcourse) to advertise your behind to other players as to kill you, and having a freakin' cooldown timer....WTF. You have to be in a public lobby to do import/export missions now (ofcourse). You have to be in a public session to do gunrunning mission (ofcourse). You have to be in a public session to almost anything now days. Even being on a freakin' computer in your office takes you to be required to be in a public session. GTA Online also reeks of cooldown timers EVERYWHERE! Selling cars, doing import/export, doing CEO missions, researching for new equipment has a HUGE cooldown timer (unless you hilariously pay a sh*tton of money ofcourse) which makes no sense. There are so many more restrictions and artificially talored bullsh*t I can add, it drives me up the freakin' walls. Anything and EVERYTHING that you can do in this game is tailored SO HARD to the point where everything is equally as time consuming to make money. Even Heists take forever to make money because, either 1) players leave and you have to sit behind a loading screen and start over, 2) players constantly die, or 3) there is an unexpected error. Everything in 2018 now seems to take forever to load. Loading into almost any lobby takes forever to load, loading ANYTHING public takes forever now. Even buying sh*t in this game has a "transaction pending" message attached to it. What kind of f*cking developer adds a restriction to buying something as to giving it a f*cking time limit?!!! Are you kidding me?!!! There are server issues all over the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ place. Almost always get somekind of error message no matter how good the internet speed is and internet settings are. I can have the best internet service with perfect speeds and settings and still get so many server issues with GTA Online, which adds to the waiting. There are so many more restrictions in this game than I have ever seen in any other game. Waiting in lobbies to play missions and heists takes forever, playing heists and setups takes forever because people constantly die, leave, get kicked out, server crashes, or game crashes. There are so many things I can say about this game that drives me insane. But overall: GTA Online 2018 sucks. It isn't even fun anymore because most of the gameplay involves waiting for sh*t to load and grinding for money. Very little of the GTA Online gameplay is ACTUALLY enjoying it. I can totally stop playing it and play something else, but there is so much fun I WANT to have with all the cool new toys with it. It really sucks when GTA Online has been just a restriction and loading utopia. There is a reason why the online mode of GTA V is called "GTA Online". Because GTA Online is in and of itself, a seperate game. I would have rather spent $60 for GTA Online as a seperate game without all these F2P mechanics than have it F2P.
