Plus, this effect of being dumped into a RANDOM pubbie session happens with all kinds of activities. For example, this week I have been doing the auto shop contracts solo, but the finale operates like a mini-heist, so when I do the finale solo (to learn it or for the extra challenge) I am yanked out of my session and dumped into a total pubbie session at the end.
It would not matter if the pubbie load time was fast as I could quickly switch back, but the total random pubs take forever to load.
So back to the question... Is there a way to return to the session you started from instead of being dumped into a random one?
Solo sessions I think yes. Invite Only or Closed Crew I can't remember.
Oh well... standard R* sub-par programming :P
I exclusively play with my command or alone. Every single time I start the game, after that huge and annoying load time, I'm trown into a public session.
Then I must go to Creator, confirm I'm leaving the session, wait another load, press start, change tabs 5 times to reach GTA online tab and them I have the command only session to be made, I click it and have another long load time.
Wouldn't all be 100 times simpler as soon as you start GTA Online you get a menu asking which session you want to join?
A menu with:
Public
Invite Only
Friends Only
Command Only
Aside that, why when I start services like the IAA missions from an Invite only session, suddenly I'm on a public session where randoms shows up to do the mission I want to do alone? (Yes, there's the option to chose to be closed, but it's by default open when you start anything and you can't change it if any person joins the thing 1 second after you start the thing and you can't kick the person out).
It is still slow and cumbersome, and something that not even a beginner programmer with some common sense would design so poorly.
Besides, that is an issue with "entering the game" that's been broken for years. The issue on this thread is what happens when the same pile of manure design yanks you out of your preferred session and dumps you into R*'s favorite cesspool - the rando public session.
It should be trivial:
- If I start from Solo, always return me to the same solo. Never drop me on anything else.
- If I start from Invite Only, always return me to the SAME invite Only, not a new one... as my Invite Only could have players that didn't join in the particular activity but I'll want to join later in another activity.
- If I start from Closed Crew, always return me to the SAME Closed Crew.
- If I start from a Public, always return me to the SAME Public.
It should not be rocket science, as I said even a beginner with common sense would understand this... but clearly waaaay to complex to understand for R* developers.
Besides, I play with a clan of crews that includes over 1000-2000 players. Yeah, let's tell them all to figure out whose Invite Only session is the right one to join at any given time. Those large clans have very well established methods that already make the best possible outcomes from the lousy tools R* gives us.
