I can only drive around, play tennis, golf, and go to strip clubs so much. Need some kind of income. And mugging innocent pedestrians and motorists isn't very lucrative.
I did manage finally to find an armored car and jacked it for about $10k, so now Franklin can enter that street race Hao mentioned...
Your focus should be on saving money for key businesses. Flight school is a good thing to do early, so is the treasure hunt, navy pistol quest, tomahawk quest, playing cards collectibles, scavenger hunt (one location per day), signal jammers, robbing every single convenience store in the map, action figure collectibles, LD Organics collectibles,
Once you get a bit of cash (very very early - you probably already have it) get VIP status (I can't remember but I think it is at the casino. And make sure to get something something cheap with a garage.
From what I sense of your playstyle from your writing you should probably start with the Auto Shop business. It is not the best playing business but it should give you fun activities to do while earning more cash.
Once you have enough cash, definitely get the Kosatka and become an expert at doing the Cayo Perico heist solo. It is the fastest way to earn more cash and you will need tens and hundreds of millions eventually, and this is a good way when you need cash fast.
That brings me to the weekly events. Every Thursday there is a new event that lasts for a week, with discounts (obviously the best time to buy - especially businesses) and 2x,3x ,4x income on certain things.
For all of the above... google and youtube. You rely on guides more than in any other game.
Above all... have fun, don't let it turn into a money grind. You will discover that there is so much to do that there is no reason to get bored... unless you stick to the single most profitable thing and do it until you want to throw up.
EDIT: GTA Online by default dumps you in public sessions where you get assaulted by hackers, modders and griefers constantly. If you find yourself unable to play you should look into switching to Invite Only sessions or join a 500-1000 player crew with strict rules of behavior (that match your preferences) and runs its own closed crew session and enforces the rules.
Thanks for describing how to play a game its unreal you had to write a multi paragraph article to explain how to play a video game. People like him are the reason we have to have our hand held in a tutorials for a video game. Back when i was a youngin we picked up the controller and learned how to play.
Back then I also just picked up the game and learned it while doing it. Even now I find games that I can learn while playing, while others do require guides. GTA Online is easily the most disorganized and obscure game there is, and it compounds the problem by dumping you in public sessions where you get instantly assaulted by hackers, modders and griefers - long before you learn to play the game.
Don't get me wrong, I'm loving "simming" it in the game's world, but there's just no indication of what's required to progress to the next part at the moment.
I think resting finally did the trick.
