Slow download with a fast internet..

hi

I have 400 Mbps internet, and only on Steam im downloading at very low MBps... with 400 mbps i have to dowload at 50 MBps but usally i downoad like 14 mbps an lower... also the download interrupt its self...

I said only with Steam because i download in other apps like, origin, downloader manager, uplay chrome etc etc and i have the speed what im paying.. i even 2 or more mbps more than im paying for... netflix, yotube etc is going perfect...

Any idea? can be my internet provider who have manipulated the conexion?.. i have my drives updates at the day, and the energy settins all in performance and full duplex... i did many reinstalations of windows before and speedtest by and fast.com show that my internet speed is ok and like i said im got like 2 and more mbps of what im paying for... so what can be...


i googled my problem before and i saw ppl with my problem but the ppl trying to help dont know anything about the problem, even in my country with the same internet provider.. so what can be? god, the universe hates me? nah but seriously, any idea? please help!

FWIW I believe that steam is throttling dl's. In my experience it appears that steam permits a dl speed that leads to a 3 or 4 minute dl time. The closest I ever get to my 300Mbs is if a file is bigger than 5GB. Like you, I see my max 300Mbs with origin and uplay all the time. The fastest time I've seen on steam in the last year is 250Mbs and that's only on very, very large dl's.

I think he means he should be downloading at 50 mbps (which he should with 400 mbps internet) and he's only downloading at 14.

Steam does block download speed, I have 1000 mbps internet and the highest I've seen was 45 and I should see 250.

I can't seriously believe that you are complaining about 50MB... Like really? My internet download speed is at around 20MB ish, and I get a max of 2MB/s in Steam. Be glad with what you have. Most people will kill for internet speeds like that in Steam... -_-

Could be helped by switching the download region in Steam settings. I downloaded GTA at a steady 300 Mbps.

I downloaded this game at 300 Mbps (about 30 minutes, which I passed by taking a shower and getting something to drink). I'd be pretty unhappy having to wait 7 hours if I'm paying for 300 Mbps. Of course it also depends on the bandwidth of the server you're downloading from, but you'd expect a service as big as Steam would be able to provide at least 300 Mbps for large downloads like that.

The point? Isn't obvious? Someone complaining because they are getting 50MB/s... I am explaining that they are acting super spoiled and greedy. I'm explaining to them that they should be happy with what they are getting because most people can't even get 50MB/s on Steam... I thought the "point" was obvious. Guess not...
