I want to share this, but GTA Online, I am not sure which mod allows this or if it's a unique thing. But I encountered a modder who was griefing, the person first was tracking my actions even when I changed lobby or they apparently left the lobby.

This person then gained access to my game even when I left Online. I did some reading and found that I needed to change a few things to undo this. But I submit that GTA ONLINE is not a safe game to play. I am sad that this isn't known more popularly but I'm hoping others can share their experience so players don't have to worry about their PC's being hacked through GTA Online.

i would get a bunch of random ips. so narrowing it down would be hard. But its not a secured thing.

You don't need to worry about someone finding you with your IP address. However, there is one exception to this rule, and that is for users who partake in criminal activity. If you were to participate in illegal activities, then a law enforcement agency is within its rights to get a court order, which would be submitted to your ISP in order to get your information. But this isn't a common scenario, and even if it did happen, the fact still remains that only your ISP knows your exact address from your IP address. Police only have access to their information with a court order. At that point, there are other means for the police to find you, so your IP address' geographical ambiguity won't do much in means of protecting you.

It's just a matter of time though. And DoS (and DDoS) is sufficient enough to possibly be even dangerous to a persons life if they or another person in their household are dependant on technology that depends on a working Internet service. People should be scared.

Scare people, it isn't a scare it's the reality, they were able to see my inputs, unless GTA V is also tracking my inputs and they were reading getting that information. I am not arguing this point, further it's a warning for a reason, warnings are meant to inform. That's like saying a person who says there is a wet floor is scaring people because someone reacts in a scared way to the floor being wet.

I mean you could warn someone the sky is falling when it's just raining. Doesn't mean it's true. It's impossible to get hacked through the game. You did something else, downloaded a mod or virus, or gave someone access to your steam account. Either way, It's impossible for someone to hack your PC, just playing GTA with them in a lobby

literally every p2p game has the feature of sharing ips. its not a security risk. a public ip is a public ip.

Edit to clarify:

I want "you" to tell me what my public IP address is.

It's the same as a license plate bud. We can't lookup who has what IP, But it's public facing IP, just like a license plate is public facing. nothing you can do with it, but DOS and DDOS which is so easy to stop. But is the ONLY risk, but not really a security risk as it does not break your security or make your system vulnerable
