[MEMORY LEAK IN LAUNCHER - PLEASE HELP, ANY FIXES?]
I've looked online and can not seem to find a fix for this. There are many memory leak results, however they all seem to be pertaining to the actual game, I'm having a leak while trying to install/download the game. Right now it is verifying download integrity in the launcher and slowly taking away my 16GB of RAM.

I am looking for a fix for this badly because I can not even play the game until it does this, and ny computer runs out of memory before it finishes, and then the process starts all over. I should say I DO NOT have the Steam version, but I'm posting it here in addition to planning to contact Rockstar, in case someone here knows a fix. I own it via Rockstar social club, my copy was bought on humble bundle long time ago. The problem does not happen in on my laptop, only my desktop. And I don't think it happened the first time I installed?

Does anyone know a fix? I'll answer any questions you have.

Specs:
CPU: i7-6700 @ 3.40Ghz
16GB RAM
2TB HDD + 256GB SSD
64-bit Windows 10

I'd start by copying the functional gtav install from the laptop to the desktop. Then jumping through the various hoops to get it to install / detect existing files / and skip the download process. Similar to this (though it's for steam copy conversion.. same deal really)

Maybe even needing to run the link at the bottom of this page or manually install other things like directx, social club, and the vcredists.

If copying isn't an option -
I'd open msconfig, services tab, hide ms services - disable the rest.
Then in msconfig - over to startup/taskmanager - and disable it all / apply / restart computer.
Then google adwcleaner from toolslib to run a quick scan/clean - and see if that helps.
I'd also make sure you have the hdd space, have write perms, or are installing as admin.
I'd remove other things like internet download managers just because they cause issues -.-
And atleast, go from there.. -.- definitely not a common issue around here...
