How do you unlock the "Ruby Necklace" in Cayo Perico heist?

Intro (if context matters):

Me and my friends are sorta new to the game. One of my friend's cousin introduced us to this heist and it's actually the first heist (apart from Lester's tutorial heist) we've done. Our primary target for the heist which my friend's cousin hosted was a Ruby Necklace and each of us netted a lot of money 🤑💰.

Fast forward to today, I afforded a submarine and did the heist alone one time and my target was some documents from the vault (for Miguel Madrazo), ehem spicy stuff. After doing that, I did the heist again with friends when they were online and our primary target were files from the vault again. We were sorta paid significantly less even with bags full.

So yeah, the primary targets we got from the heist were files from the vault. How do we actually unlock the Ruby Necklace as primary target for Cayo Perico?

Also, if it matters: Is it possible to skip the gathering intel on some secondary targets (like drugs and money) but still be able to grab them during the mission?

i dont think you can skip the intel of finding secondary targets. u have to do it in the prep phase. if u can then thats cool, im still new to this but i know every time i do cayo solo with just the paper bonds in the safe, is like 1mil for me alone so it's worth it and i just run away without much secondary targets other than paintings or gold in the basement

yes you can skip all prep stuff and only play finals, but this is shady area and R* may consider to take some actions against you, if earn too much money in a short amount of time.

if you are lucky, you may only end in a cheaterpool and they temporaly disable rewards for the heist, next step on the punishment ladder would be wiping the acc and final punishment full ban.

Excuse me, WHUT? 😨 So you're saying I'm allowed to skip the secondary target intel prep stuff, STILL grab them during the heist and get marked as "cheater" for doing such thing? Or perhaps get marked as cheater for farming money from a high paying heist?

I mean, I don't plan on cheating, or exploiting bugs.. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yes, you can skip all that. The only thing you have to do on the Intel mission is find the primary heist target in the vault. Secondary loot is somewhat random, and sometimes there will be no loot in a location that it appeared in before, but that's not because you didn't do the intel. Just go straight to the Tower, find the primary loot on the camera, then get yourself caught by a guard or camera so you can go straight back to your plane.

Oh I see. The thing is that on my 2nd attempt do the heist with friends, I only gathered intel on the secondary targets inside the mansion and ignored the rest of the targets on the island, mostly because I find the "sneak around the island again" part grueling.

So I couldn't confirm if the stuff like the drugs and money at the Main Docks spawns if I didn't scout them out beforehand. Thank for you for clarifying that they spawn and is obtainable. This will save me some time. 🙃

Look son, it's simple:

The primary heist target is random, the Wiki link the guy up there posted contains them.
The most valuable target, the panther statue, is only possible to get during event weeks.

Yes you can skip gathering intel of secondary targets and still collect them, but it is not recommended as planning what you grab can significantly increase the payout (again, see the wiki for a prize list)

After finishing all prep work and doing the heist, an exploit can be conducted by cutting the internet connection. That way, you get the money but the heist does not register as finished. But again, this is an explout and thus a bannable offense.
