GTA v does not run on windows 11


Settings:

RTX3090ti
Ryzen 5800x
SDD

I used to play the game normally on windows 10 after I installed windows 11 it doesn't open anymore.

It stays in the black window with the rockstar logo loading and doesn't come out of it



The error happens on both Steam and Epic Games


I already have everything updated and visual c++ too

You should go find the other guy's thread you posted in- that I posted in. 'Having' the same problem - on windows 11. At last check, he now has playtime and achievements - but he may have just given up and put on win10, or played on an entirely different pc.

Who knows. No updates from OP. Perhaps they can shed some light on their 'progress' before I waste time on my weekend running some win11 tests. Fun times. There certainly are many people playing gta5 on windows 11 without issue.

Works perfectly fine on win 11, I was running it even when win was in alpha.

I managed to solve it and it was a problem with the game's setting file.

Maybe your problem lies into the controlled folder access that is managed by windows security. Go to windows security/virus & threat protection/manage settings/ manage controlled folder access then disable it or add the program to allow. Check block history to see whats blocked. This solved a lot of problems for me with many programs. By default controlled folder access is enabled in windows 11.
