The Ignus - How does it stack up?
I got a fully pimped Ignus and I'm..tripping. It _seems_ quicker and faster than any car I have, sticks reasonably well and is also agile.

Could this be the fastest car in the game now? If not, 2nd place? 3rd? I prefer it over my Krieger. It's my new fav. good liveries too.

I like the car, specially with stock spoiler that goes out with speed like some other cars but to me it feels like any other supercar.

The fastest land vehicle in terms of lap time is the BR8 Formula .
Caped Crusader 10 ENE 2022 a las 15:16
I like the Ignus very much, but GTAO vehicle expert Broughy1322 rates it as 20th for top speed and 6th for lap time (using his special testing track with a mix of straights and various corners) in the supercar class overall.

Zombits, I wouldn't use lap time testing of all vehicles overall as being so definitive a judgement. I mean the open wheel cars have top speeds that are average/mediocre compared to many sports cars in the game and, for instance, there's some street/highway-focused time trials you can't accomplish with them, including the BR8, speaking from first hand experience. Broughy's test track also isn't what I'd consider reflective of common racing scenarios in GTAO, at least those generally made by Rockstar, but simply serves as a way to try to fairly compare vehicles whose strength is good cornering and those that have strong top speed.

Because driving a car in freeroam is mostly done in the city with all the curves and avoiding traffic . The highway is not always the best path from A to B .

If you're gonna race on a track made of mostly straights like in stunt races whatever or spend most of your time on highway then it's not the fastest of course

It was tested indeed by Broughy and it beats the Vigilante.

When i drive this BR8, of course this thing is overkill because it's an F1 , but many times i thought i had to break but it can take 90 % of curves at full speed without slowing down ,unless it's a U turn. It also has a boosts if you need it . It can also break from full speed to zero in a split sec

I tested it against a Vagner? and they were pretty equal, the Ignus had about 5-10mph more top end.

Again, you really should note that's lap time not top speed and with how the Vigilante handles of course that's the case. Don't paint half the picture, or I consider that very disingenuous, particularly in light of open wheel vehicle prices and the off chance some relatively new player will take your advice and then wonder why in some friendly freeroam race their BR8 is bested by a Deveste Eight, Pariah, Emerus, or many many other vehicles that I know for a fact would do that. The BR8 would be left in the dust with the specific cars I cited.

My finding using Broughy's master testing spreadsheet for the BR8's top speed:
- Counting all vehicles in-game, including aircraft and watercraft, it's at #126
- Excluding aircraft and watercraft, it's #78

For the general freeroam use case you described, I'd say instead Krieger, Emerus or Pariah would be ideal. They also don't have problems when striking a curb.

How many times do you have an opportunity to stay at your top speed for long enough to be worth it, i rarely see this driving in the city .

It really depends on the track and where you drive . Anywhere in the city , again, BR8 will beat any cars you listed.

Personally if i have to move 10 km north in the desert i use a chopper anyway or move with sub

LOL That's absolutely false, but thanks for giving me the best laugh I've had today.

Edit: Why not ask Broughy that in a comment on one of his videos? He often replies when I've chimed in there with a question, though he did just get married and might still be honeymooning.

Yea I googled it and the difference is minimal, it's just like all other supercars.

Keep laughing , i'll be glued to the road while you can't keep up and end up in the ditch.

only if you don't crash in traffic in first place XD

You'll bite the dust unless it's a straight race on the highway, not even close.

I have tested again the krieger right now and a single bump on the road makes it lose control, end up in a spin for no reason . The downforce on BR8 is astonishing and even a newbie can control this car after learning it . You can break from 116 MPH to zero in 0.2 seconds , allows for any mistake and avoid crashes. Downforce i used is in middle, haven't played with settings yet and could improve top speed

(bragging more about the BR8 being best)
I think I have a way we can get to a final answer of who's in the right and wrong here. Thursday the regular Time Trial should change to the very last one in their cycle, El Burro Heights. The challenge is to go from the oil fields in east downtown to the observatory in 2 minutes 10 seconds or less using any route you want. I'll do it in the Krieger and you do it with the BR8. I'll upload my run to YouTube and, if recording/uploading videos is any problem for you, you can instead just share the screen shot of the "Par Time Beaten" message at the end that will show the time you took. It's one of the easiest of all the Time Trials in my opinion - I've beaten it with a Comet Safari, Armored Kuruma, and regular Ruiner - so regardless of the outcome of doing our little comparison you can certainly complete it and get $100k. It also matches the general scenario you described of being able to move quickly across downtown, and there's a good mix of straights and cornering, plus you have the freedom to get to the end however you like. Whichever of us has the best time wins and that's the definitive end of this. Deal?

A demo of the time trial -

Well the guy has spent the last 8 years of his life doing nothing but testing cars in GTA online, on a track that resembles a perfect replica of driving downdown in freeroam.

I have tested it and it works.

I don't brag about anything, LOL, i take his own work and then test it myself.

You just can't beat a Formula 1 when there is a lot of cornering, unless you want to re-invent the wheel and make a new Formula ?

Well then your best time doing the Time Trial should easily and resoundingly wallop mine. I even shared that video of it so you can see what I consider the absolute best route, but again you have freedom to navigate it differently. Let's get this settled once and for all. This back and forth is tedious and has been for a while now.

Or are you just being a silly goof again like the falsely claiming you got banned and fake whined about it.
