I need driving tips
Hi, so I am playing with M&K because the shooting part of the game is hard using that controller, so yeah, that's my preference.

But yeah, I always fail the racing quests 100% of the time :/ and my major problem is how to make a sharp turn. Like how do I control a car properly during a turn especially when it's sharp? Sometimes I let go of W and just hit A or D to turn without further acceleration, and sometimes I use S or Space while simul holding A or D and still end up losing control.

I mean, normally IRL I would slow down on curves, but IDK how to be efficient driver in this game where safety isn't an issue.

TLDR: I have trouble making sharp turns on races, so I need tips please. Thank you!

Use keyboard to navigate in the game and reach certain goals. When inside a vehicle press MOVE keys to turn it FORWARD/LEFT/RIGHT/BACK.

I'm a M&K user myself and quite an active racer in GTAO. Speaking very generally, I'd say it's best to lay off the accelerator as you get the car turned, don't brake unless required, and punch the accelerator once you've got the car re-oriented a decent degree for the turn, like say 60%-75%, which should help keep you moving the way you want to, forward-ish, and hopefully avoid sliding. However, there's wild differences between how the vehicles behave in GTAV/GTAO. For example, typically supercars handle sharp corners well without needing to slow down too much, but the 811 which has the absolute best top speed for that class will fight you tooth and nail making turns and is simply a nightmare IMO to drive.

Additionally, I would be curious to know the racing quests you're having trouble with. If it's possibly Time Trials in GTAO, those often are set so taking shortcuts are required to beat the par time, including going offroad.

Handbrake (space) is mostly useless. Should be obvious, but for best case approach turn from the opposite road side you wanna turn to, so you have lowest turn angle (aka hit that apex) and use S to brake, eventually you will learn optimal speeds you want to slow down to (or not).

Keep the controller for driving/flying. Use K+M for everything else.

First tip is: Pick a good car
brake before turning just like irl

sweeping bends, tap direction keys rather than holding down and use brakes often again tap rather than hold.
yep like driving irl apply same principles here

Hi, this is what I usually do but I'm wonder if I'm being inefficient or need more practice. The racing quests I've done are the ones from GTAO's tutorial, the one from Franklin's quests, and Trevor's side quests when you unlock him.

Perhaps I'll have to practice on that technique because I still keep sliding even when I turn without hitting W to reduce acceleration.

Well, IDK the difference between Space and S to start with except S being both break and reverse while Space is just break. I use space mainly because it's easier to press.

Tapping huh 🤔 perhaps I'll try that. I tend to hold the keys.

Anyway thank you for the reply guys! Most likely try again. Seeing how terrible my driving in GTA5 is discourages me from buying Forza Horizon games, lol.

Don't try to cut turns when you drive fast in a race, position your car further away from the inside of the turn and use the normal break, if someone cuts you off they will lose their speed because they would need to break harder in a tight corner than you.

With space you will go into high revs and slide on corners. Only use it for very small adjustments or brake boosting exploit.

Spacebar is like a handbreake, it only locks the backwheels. good for drifting.

Only tap A-S-D for controlling the car, dont hold , it's the key.

Obviously needs practice if you never used kboard to drive
