Is gta online safe?

I haven't played it yet but i see alot of people complaining about hackers and modders problem, i heard that by playing gta online im putting myself at the risk of getting doxxed and some thing to do with my ip , is this true? And if its true how can i avoid it?

Depends what you are looking to do. The heists are fun. Other than that, I don’t really see the point. It’s just like single player but with some guy flying around on a motorbike with no wheels, camping you with rockets 🤷‍♂️ don’t really see what people get out of it.

yes, its true. they can print your ip on photopaper and wipe their ass. its worst thing which can happen with your privacy. its a serious business.
ddos is a crime. if some degenerate wanna ddos you just make a call to your isp and ask to solve this problem.

about "doxing": just type your ip in any ip location service and see where is mark.
your public ip = ingame ip.

if you still scared you can google gta guardian (3.1.0b4). this thing can create solo public locked session so cheaters/griefers will not be able to join you

I do not think they care about using a VPN as long as it’s in the same region in order to not bypass stuff

Not safe, never will be. Connections are by a host, and hackers can easily find your IP location and anything else related. Even if they're not in the session with you. Rockstar wont fix it because they're too far up their own asses.

I use a VPN when playing GTA because the community is indeed THAT toxic and cancerous.

GTA promotes anti social behavior and that's naturally going to attract anti social people so you have to remember that a lot of people playing GTA are bitter losers in real life and they genuinely hate seeing other people enjoying themselves, even if that means people enjoying the game simply how it was meant to be enjoyed.

its safe, yes i was like u debating all the time seeing on sale on PC and checking the reviews and seeing nothing but red reviews on how there's nothing but modders and finally i said ♥♥♥♥ it, the game play alone at 60fps online compared to an xbox one x is night and day, have run into a lot of modders but its not as dangerous as i thought itd be and everyone inn reviews making it out to be " WaH i GoT mY AcCoUnT bAnNeD fRoM a ModDeR" Chances are they aren't telling the whole story because i had even tried fighting with a modder with god mode on and all i did was just leave and find a new server and no they didn't follow me, chances are if u do some shady ♥♥♥♥ the game literally lets you know before you play a second of gta online that it will ban ur account, so far ive been grinding again in many public lobbies with definitely modders in the same lobby and not once have they "ruined my experience" all u got to do is literally find a new lobby if that is the case and takes 1.2 seconds....with all that being said i say get it if you've been debating because i was that same person till recently and its so much better on pc than console
