"Browser not supported"
Hello,
Every time I try to upload a video through rockstar editor it connects me through the steam browser to upload the video. When i try to sign onto google, it goes onto say that it is not a supported browser. Is there a work around for this. All i want to do is upload a video to you tube.

Well, smoosmokie, that sound like an easy thought hahah. But since it goes through steam, you cannot change the browser that you try to connect it too....

Ok, but the video saves to your PC. You are not forced to use the steam browser, open chrome, connect to youtube and upload. simple

If you want the achievement. It does not save to the pc. You have to upload it through the rockstar editor on the game itself which then directs you through the steam web browser. Unfortunately, in my situation. This is what i am dealing with. This post was meant for people who have a situation like mine. Not someone who wants to make someone feels small while thinking they are intelligent when, in fact, they have no idea what is going on. I.e. you.

I can at least confirm something is up with Steam with doing the YouTube linking and posting, though it's unclear to me if it impacts some or all users. I don't know when the change happened exactly or the specifics of why YouTube doesn't like the Steam browser now, but since IIRC late last year I haven't been able to post videos from my YT to Steam using Steam. Instead, like Soosmokie described, I use Chrome to go to the Steam Community site and do it there. I know that doesn't help, but you're certainly not alone. And, yes, the error I saw is the same "Browser not supported" one.

Honestly, that Vinewood Visionary achievement has routinely had problems in the past, or a year or two ago there were frequent complaints on the forum here about it being impossible to upload. In that situation, I believe it was in fact on Rockstar to fix something in the game's code with the upload process, after the YT link was successful, which they eventually did. What you're facing here, however, I believe is on Valve/Steam to address. I wish I could provide some meaningful assistance, but all I can think to do is to search in the "Help & Tips" Steam Community forum to see if there might be a workaround. Google, Bing or similar would be another means to investigate. If there isn't a functioning workaround, I'd create a new thread in "Help & Tips" or alternatively the "Steam Suggestions & Ideas" forum.

For people who still wants Vinewood Visionary Achievement, this still works 2022 for me:
When you need to login via Steam Web, copy the Login URL and paste it on your main browser and login through there.

I'm afraid that didn't work for me. Just to be clear about the steps I took:
- Used Steam to get to the YT login page. Copied the URL in full.
- Switched to Chrome and went to the pasted URL. That brought me to a functioning login page, which let me in.
- Changed back to Steam and tried going through the "Link YouTube" button to post a video. Received the same login screen, asking for my account email. Clicking to continue, where I should enter a password, resulted in the same browser not supported message.

If I did something incorrectly, let me know and I'll try again.

Separately, my own short investigation using Google made it seem that this is a widely known problem, yet one that has no fix. The only "solutions" were going the route of using a different browser outside Steam.

Maybe try to stick with the same browser you opened (not the Steam Web version). Cant remember entirely either but I dont think I went back to Steam Web by then.

If you get prompted to link account in Steam overlay, copy the URL from address bar, paste it to your regular browser and enter.

If it opens up some normal browser already, try copying and pasting to a different one.

Link it via SC online in your browser, aka google.

EN: Just copy the link from your Steam browser when it asks for your email address (do not provide the email here), and paste it into your own browser that you use (Opera, Chrome, Mozilla, etc.), and you can enter your email address and your Google account profile is permanently linked. You need to have a YouTube channel linked to your Google profile so the game knows where to upload your video.
(2024.03.22 - I was able to Achivement this now)
