Can I get banned from GTA Online for playing FiveM?
I got bored of GTA Online and FiveM seems interesting, but will my account be safe even if I play on servers with things like custom cars etc. I have over 1400 hours in GTA Online and I don't want to lose all that progress.

nah rockstar says you get banned from rockstar social club itself so that means all games on said account would be lost.

But since his rockstar account is already added to his steam account, Yes he is at risk of being banned from rockstar. Whether that chance is small or big, there is a chance

What on earth makes you think that people in this forum would be able to provide a reliable answer?

I mean seriously dude come on. It's obvious that R* fans are going to claim you will get banned, while FiveM fans will claim you can't.

The ONLY way you could EVER know for certain is to contact Rockstar and hope to get an actual response back (instead of an automated reply about something else entirely)

Or believe the fact FiveM is bannable when most here know the truth.

Ok so 5m has a separate folder that you install the game in. I believe its in your documents folder. This allows the game to run separately from the original game. Yes I've heard people getting banned because of 5m unless you install it a specific way. 5m has its own launcher, that does not interfere with the game if installed correctly. If 5m is installed over gta5 that is when the ban happens. They have to be installed in a separate area.

It should be obvious why R* hates FiveM
TsiG May 2, 2021 @ 10:55am
yeah they lose money from it but they also train people with it (at least for gta v) it works with almost the same way (this make it easier to make scripts in fivem because parts of them are already writen) the point is that gta online is the milling cow for r* and even if they loose 1 dollar or 1 billion they wont be happy about it they tried to close it with open iv but they reopened because they started to lose more money than have it online so yeah they dont ban it because they have money to lose and before you ask yeah i am in both lines i can see why they did that but if fivem wouldnt exist i wouldnt be here
Doom Sayer May 2, 2021 @ 11:55am
Real question is why anyone would care about being banned from GTA online.
