Has your NAT type changed from open to moderate?

I just noticed this recently.

did you setup port forwarding? Mines open and always has been. without port forwarding or UpNp you cannot get a Open NAT type. And where it tells you in game has been known to be incorrect. also check your firewall on your PC in case it causes issues

I've done all that and all these days it used to be open, only recently it has changed to moderate. So in-game nat type shown is incorrect?

Yes it can be incorrect. show moderate but have a open NAT. Worst case for a test, turn on UpNp in your router, Or setup a DMZ for your PC as a temporary test to see if it changes. If it doesn't change, it's a glitch.
UpNp is the most secure of these methods.

Depends your ISP honestly. Some wants to reach Moderate, some only limits it to Strict even if you set it in ISP settings.

if thats the case, a VPN can work wonders to get a Open NAT. But in GTA, even with my VPN and a open NAT, The game shows moderate

Just press Home (Social Club overlay) > Player Tab (Top right) > Network Information

knowing you have UpNp enabled or DMZ should be enough. especially since it was open before. Also check to make sure the IP port forwarding is setup for is setup to your computer your using. Just enable UpNp and be done with it. if it shows moderate still, then most likely its a glitch in the game since it was open before

If for some reason you think your ISP has blocked these ports
Open command line as admin and try this command:
netstat -ano | findstr -i SYN_SENT

If you are getting anything show up, then your ISP is blocking ports and you would need to call them to open them if they will let you. In the US they don't block ports in the network firewall.

delete all firewall rules for gtav, delete port forward. start over again.

If it used to be open and now is moderate, unplug your router and modem for 10 seconds and plug em back up.

Using a vpn can get u from strict to moderate, but havnt seen one that allows open if ur isp started blocking stuffs. Most vpns are built for security.

Any VPN that lets you control your NAT type will let you get a open NAT. In fact most VPN can allow you to bypass NAT if not all. Because a VPN uses 1 port for traffic therefore bypassing your NAT. Most VPN give the option to turn off NAT
