Do you have any of these game launchers? I suspect one of them is causing this.
My friend only has Epic Games and Steam on his PC, and he does not experience this. I also borrowed another PC with Epic Games and Steam only, and it also does not experience this.
Were you able to fix the issue? Did the Rockstar Games Launcher and GTA V (~300MB) update fix the issue?
I still have the issue even after updating GTA V and Rockstar Games Launcher.
But I've found that if I bring up the R* launcher from the taskbar tray and select to exit then it will get rid of the GTA that is still running.
It did not work for me, but it might work on your system.
Please let me know if this fixed it...
Our's don't crash, we just exit the game, but the game is still running.
Also forgot to mention that you have to backup your save data or turn on cloud save before doing this, so you won't lose your save data.
Does anyone of you have "Logitech GHub"?
edit - testing some newer versions, going into ghub and turning off integrations for gta5, and disabling keyboard effects in the game settings has allowed my game to close properly while keeping ghub open. YMMV obviously - I don't need them/care but use ghub for some other things. The taskmanager, task kills, rain dance nonsense is too annoying.
