To anyone crashing as of February 25th 2021
Are you running any of nvidias RTX cards? 20x or 30x? Saw a lot of people posting their specs and seem to have an RTX card, same as myself, meanwhile 2 friends of mine dont crash at all, one running a gtx 1080 and another on an older radeon card.

I think the recent crashing is mostly due to synch issues with R* services.

yes

GTX1080 here too, never had a problem that wasn't caused by a modder in the lobby or a home wifi glitch.

Yes, crashing to desktop at "random" and missions not saving...having to redo.

1660Ti here, and the crashes I experience seem different from the others I have read about here. No hard crash, but a RAM error:
Application Error. The instruction at 0x00007ff### referenced memory at 0x00###. The memory could not be read.

It started happening after the update on thursday too though, and I had the exact same problem during the last big general crash events after the release of the Casino DLC in 2019 (had a 970 back then).

It happens once or twice daily, mostly during the scope out on Cayo Perico. But also once on the dancefloor of my Nightclub and one time when on CCTV during a break. Luckily this error does not actually crash the game, it puts the game from fullscreen in windowed mode with this pop up in the middle of the screen. I am then still able to finish what I'm doing and save before clicking OK and closing the game.

Anyone else?

Wow, i thought i was going crazy! i have been doing just fine until early this week! I am running a GTX 1070ti and it keeps crashing exactly after 20mins! It doesnt even give me any error code or anything, it literally just goes away and then puts me in the desktop.

i am currently using 461.40 drivers and this is after i rolled back from the most recent one, 461.72, thinking that was the issue. it wasnt, still crashes. i cant get anything done on gta online, it is frustrating!

glad and sad that im not the only one experiencing these crashes.

edit: went through event viewer and saw this for GTA5
"Faulting application name: GTA5.exe, version: 1.0.2215.0, time stamp: 0x601317d1
Faulting module name: GTA5.exe, version: 1.0.2215.0, time stamp: 0x601317d1

R9 fury here... Just started having crashing problems today.

Definitely not an issue related to RTX or Nvidia.

Maybe i'm wrong, but if you have the 0xc0000005 error, it is related with the weekly update that the rockstar launcher have to set what weekly event, bonuses and discounts are activated. there is nothing wrong with your PC's. Hopefully next launcher update will fix the ctd's.

How do I find out what kind of error I have? Is there a file?
Running 2080Ti on gaming pc seems fine. Did test on 3060Ti,3080,3090 all run fine.
