Rockstar Launcher exited unexpectedly / Verify your game files.
Hello,
so, the last few days I have been having problems with starting up my GTA V.
Basically when I try to launch it via Steam (Tried Story Mode and Online), it tells me I need to 'verify my game files', sure thing.. But after I do so, sometimes multiple times, it gives me the same error.
Next thing I tried is reinstalling my game, and that didnt fix a single problem.
After, I went to rockstar launcher and tried starting my game there, but when I clicked 'Play on Steam', it just gave me an error that said 'Rockstar Games Launcher exited unexpectedly' with a link to their support, and then just closed.
Its getting on my nerves and I've tried numerous things, but nothing seems to work, so is anyone here able to help me, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Got the same Problem. Had random crashes in online mode, and one suggested solution was to reinstall the R* launcher. Since then if I wanted to start the game it only said couldn't update GTA V files (game already launched). So I can't play, not story not online.

I have the same problem here and my version is not even from Steam. Online, the
the game gives a few locks and closes alone after a few minutes of use. There is no error message. Checking the files does not solve it. I think these are problems with the Rockstar servers.

Clear Steam's download cache. There are some bad files inside that won't get replaced automatically. You have to delete them manually.

don't load from the launcher, run steam as admin>verify game cache then run game from steam again.

Did that now as well, but it doesn't let me. Everytime I wanna start up the game, the launcher opens with it.

it will, i dont understand why you think it wont? thats how it was designed. the launcher is required to run the game even if you run through steam.

yeah I know that... so the files are corrupted or what? I installed this game over and over again, verified it, cleared the download cache, deinstalled rockstar launcher and installed again, etc.
I'm just fed up at this point, nothing is working :'(

try renaming your rockstar games folder in documents to rockstar games old and run the game again with steam in admin mode.

Still the same. I wanna launch the game -> Rockstar launcher wants to gain acces -> agree
-> R* loading symbol -> Launch game in steam -> Loading gta... -> "An error occured while updating grand Theft Auto V (app running)" :(

so the question now is how did you reinstall the rockstar games launcher?
[-iD-] Mar 4, 2021 @ 9:36am
and stop trying to run gta from rockstar games launcher, it will never work.

At first automatically by reinstalling the game. Later again on the official website.

same s#it again.
deinstalled launcher, ran steam in admin mode, verified gta, installed R* launcher, launch game on steam aN ErRor oCcuReD (aPp RuNnInG)

I'm so clueless, this is mentally exhausting ^^'
