Crazy to some but they have the money and thats what they want so i guess
People pay monthly subscriptions for some games, some pay 70 bucks for a COD game and then 20 bucks a pop for map packs. I've done it,lol, though I've bought enough of COD for my lifetime I think.
Not everyone has the time to grind away at the game to earn enough money to buy what they want. Rockstar provides a shortcut for those players.
I think they are overpriced, but if there were no shark cards, people would be asking for them.
Well....if the game is tedious or not is totally subjective, my hours should show I have a lot of fun with it.
But, if you don't enjoy the core of the online portion of the game (heists, missions, other work) and just want the resulting cars, houses and so on, then yes, the game was designed to make money off of those players.
Then they praise Rockstar for releasing "free" content that they don't have to buy....
It's amazing really..
Only if you have the mindset that you need to own everything and right now. I said it countless times, it's retarded to claim the game is unplayable without Shark Cards or acting as if Rockstar employees come to your house, put a gun to your head and force you to buy them.
In the end, all you need to enjoy the game is a cheap garage (you don't even need an apartment), a car and some guns and that's cheap and easy to get. With that you can basically do everything except run CEO or the Biker club yourself. So what really is the problem?
Of course there are ridiculously overpriced items like the new bike but ask yourself: Do you really need it to be able to enjoy the game?
In all my time i only ever bought 2 of the cheapest Shark Cards and that was just to quickly get VIP back then. Otherwise i just play and enjoy the game. What can i say? I have 3 apartments, 7 garages overall, the biker club, the CEO office, currently i have 61 vehicles (including several Benny's vehicles), 9 Pegasus vehicles, a Yacht, own all the weapons and have a ton of clothes and i got that all by just playing the game.
So really, why exactly to people ♥♥♥♥♥ about Shark Cards and act as if you can't get anything in the game without them?
It's all been free for me,lol....but I get your point.
Some lucky individuals are able to get plenty of friends online at the same time, and they live in an area close to the "datacenters" or whatever so they get better and quicker matchmaking results... And most of them got the game at (or shortly after) launch, so they've had a very long time to grind the cash...
Most clearly buy shark cards though.. as evidenced by the 700 million they made in the past year off of just shark cards alone... 700 million dollars in a single year!!! It's unthinkable..
In a way the DLC for GTA V is by far the most expensive DLC ever..
Except that you can use those and touch those and they don't disapear when the next weapon model comes out
