Do you fail Cayo Perico if you run out of lives?

I was playing it with a friend and when he died, he didn't respawn. We were at the very end of a heist so I finished it, but we lost a ton of money that was in his bag. I was wondering if this heist has checkpoints or if you have to redo the heist, or if you lose the entire heist and setup if everyone dies after all lives are gone.

If you lose all your lives, you can restart from last checkpoint. Normally the checkpoints are where you infiltrate the island, after you enter the compound, and then after you exit the compound. If someone can't respawn to take their loot, it's always better to just do a quick restart from the last checkpoint (letting yourself die). Many people do this if they're caught during the heist. Only downside is that you can't get the Elite Challenge if you quick restart.

nah you can restart as often as you want from certain checkpoints
1.one for entering the island
2. for entering the villa
3 for leaving the villa

iam not sure about it but you also lose 200k, if you restart too often beside the failed elite challenge.

You fail if you...

- Die (Obviously)
- Yeet yourself to the water near drainage tunnel while still inside Compound (Instant death guaranteed). To avoid this, get out from Compound 1st. Then jump to nearest water or go to Main Dock to esc
