Do NOT go afk in freemode, or pick up MONEY drops
Hey everyone,

Contrary to popular belief, you WILL get banned for picking up money drops
Here`s what happened to me yesterday/today.

I`ve been playing GTA V online since the beginning on the 360, years later i migrated my account to pc.
I dont know the exact number of hours, but i`m sure it`s 2000+ of played time on this account.
Note: i NEVER used any mods or external naughty programs, nor did i ever glitch any money.

Yesterday i logged in to a lobby and asked if anyone wants to do any heists to make some money, some random dude responds and we have a little talk, but i had to go afk to take care of my daughter
When i return i see a error about too many transactions being processed, and find that i recieved a whopping 8-10 million!
After asking in the chat people tell me a modder was non stop showering me with money.
Eventually i go to bed, and the next day after coning home from work i find out that i`m not only suspended for 30 days, but they will reset EVERYTHING!
RP, Money, vehicles, property everything!
On top of that i just found out all bans are final and not open for a appael....

So my fellow GTAO players my advice to you.
If you value your account like me, stay the F away from money drops.

The rest here is more directed to anyone from Rstar (if they read any of this)
If this bores you stop reading here, and stay safe brothers and sisters!

I`ve been playing your games since the first GTA came out, and honestly
always thought the world of the company.

In the past i witnessed and heard of some bad things happening with other developers treating there playerbase badly but....

What happened today honestly blows my mind...
Especially with the knowledge that on shark cards alone the company made over 50 billions of dollars, an obscene amount one might say.
Since i joined the pc version of GTA Online, i`ve been shocked of the amount of modders running rampage in 8 out of 10 lobbies

i`m talking flying cars (that shouldn`t fly), the world exploding, being chased by teleporting modders on a bloodthirsty crusade to end the world.
Getting caged, sexually harassed (that was kinda funny i admit.. :P)
Airplanes and helicopters raining down on me, i could go on and on.

My point here is, with THAT kind of funding at your disposal, there is little excuse of the outlandishly amount of modders running rampage.
Not only that, but now a player like me (and i`m sure a lot of others) are being punished for running into overpowered individuals that shoudln`t even be there in the first place, at least not in these proportions....

So my punishment is, i lose everything, all the things i earned while playing by the book for a shameful amount of hours.

So on the one hand Rstar makes a hard statement "No mercy for hackers!" which i think all us grinders respect!
Yet looking at the facts how many modders are running around it seems there is a lot of room for mercy and turning a blind eye (or simply not giving a F).

I don`t have any illusion this post will somehow unban my account based on what i read from others and there simmilar experiences.
But i do hope, someone there will wake the F up and smell the coffee.
Also if you`re still reading my advise think twice when buying a Rockstar game that was some form of Online open world,

Stay safe, and be well.

Whenever i get money drops i just leave the lobby because 1) better safe than sorry and 2)i don't really want cheated money. When it comes to your case i really don't know what to believe because R* themshelves have mentioned that getting money from a modder (provided that you haven't asked for any of course)doesn't put your account at risk.R* would most likely just wipe the money out of your account.Since i dont like getting modded money and i assume you don't as well, it would be better if you just sent a ticket to R* and asked them to remove your money. That's what i would do anyways if i got 10mil from a modder

Would that really have any chance of succes?
From what i`ve gathered there in a short time that hell would freeze over before bans are reconsidered.
They can put me on Minus 10 mil if they want, just want to get back to playing.

Well i mean right now nothing can't be done unfortunately, you will just have to wait for those 30 days to pass to play again but to answer your question yeah, if you ask them they can wipe the money you got easily.I am not sure if that would prevent the ban ( to be honest i dont even know whether or not the modded money was the reason you got banned) but it most likely would. Then again this is R* so i dont really know how their banning system works.

rockstar is very clear unless you are in a modded lobby or a recovery service you wont be banned.
so just picking up money means nothing. they can remove it at any time. bans are for people who are complicit with the modder such as in a modded lobby or a recovery service.

if you don't know what a modded lobby is, its a private lobby created by the modder to give out money for large quantities of people.

Hey man thanks for the information.
How can one tell if it is a modded lobby?
it was the first lobby i entered when i logged in, if that explains anything.

i just explained to you a modded lobby is a private lobby. Not a public lobby, you can not turn a public lobby into a private one.

Crap you`re right, sorry should have read better.
Thanks everyone for your information, but i`ll call it a day and try and see if i can reach Rstar tomorrow.

Freaky part is when i enter Rockstar forums (that seem to be very elusive to enter and make a post) in google.

The first post that shows up is this

https://support.rockstargames.com/community/200063373/360019769693

containing the first post that says.

"It appears to me that this forum is being killed off. A typical player typing "Rockstar Support" in a web browser brings you to the limited automated help sections with no easy access to this site so it's doubtful it will remain. The little balloon next to the Twitter icon couldn't be more invisible.

Even Rockstar helpers don't post here anymore and accessing from Gmail is a mess that won't be corrected. Hope future players get the help they need or find another help site that works for them."

This is getting too confusing, thanks agian.

If i know more tomorrow i will update here .

what he is saying is money wipe(not wipe all of your money, wipe away what you got from money drop), rstar wouldn't suspend your account for the first time, only after multiple times you will get that

60k or so is the maximum a cheater can drop on you before the transaction failed error appears. After that you can no longer pick up anything for 1 minute before you can get another 60k.
NO the transaction fail error appear is because the rate of drop is too fast, not the amount, if 4 money bags land on your character within 1 second that would happen.
