Help! i get some weird green dots flickering while playing GTA on my screen and now i possibly have 2 dead pixels.
so i play alot of gta 5 (i have over 150 hours i think) and sometimes i get alot of green dots flickering on my screen. not a problem i just exit the game and hop right back. but today i got it again but instead of exiting the game i decided to turn off and on my screen and it worked! but it meant that it was the screen's fault i continued to play the game but then i realized there was a black dot on my screen then i exited the game and discovered i had 2 black pixels! i tried to turn off the screen and to completely turn off the computer for quite a long time but nothing worked.

did gta 5 seriously get me 2 dead pixels?

btw here's my specs :

Processor: AMD RYZEN 5 2600 (3,4Ghz 6 core)

Power supply: Corsair VS650W 80+
Hard Drive: Western Digital 1TB 7200RPM M Hard Drive

i have a question can the monitor get a dead pixel by the pc overheating?
Literally the only thing it could be is a faulty monitor or something you may have physically done to it.

If you could try it on a different monitor that would narrow down the cause.

But, "green dots" (search google for: "green dots graphics cards") is usually something to do with the graphics card. Maybe try re-seating it? Try a different cable?

Nope. Check your monitor cable if its connected right or check the graphics card cable. If it doesnt work i usually just turn the monitor off and on again.

A game wont cause dead pixels in monitor.
If they are dead/ r g or b out, you can try to slowly press on the pixel and maybe itll fix. Otherwise contact manufacturer.

If they only appear in-game, as above stated try differant cable, reset gpu clocks if overclocked (or manually set to “stock” if preoverclocked card, especially memory) and lastly reseat gpu and power connectors.

If it was online, then it's just a modder. Happened to me as well

one another weird thing. the dead pixel isnt all black. so for example if there is a blue color on that pixel it is a dark blue color

is there a dead pixel outside of game? or do you only see it in game? And like said, your dead pixel has nothing to do with the game. just a bad monitor

lol no gta can not cause dead pixels, this is purely a hardware defect.

your dead pixels have absolutely nothing to do with the game. Like I said you have a bad monitor. it happens. either contact your montior manufacturer or return it if you can. A game will not cause a pixel to go bad. it just happened to happen while playing GTA V

oh. well thats weird i cant find any other reason my monitor got the dead pixel. but it doesnt bother me so thanks
are you not listening? the reason it has a dead pixel is because you got a bad monitor. We have told you this multiple times. try contacting MSI https://us.msi.com/page/warranty

See if it is still under warranty

Im starting to think i dont have the same problem as the OP,for a brief second my screen went black with some green dots(not over the gameplay) but the next day during fiddling i noticed i had it on direct x 10.1 or whatever it is.so i reverted it back to dx11 and yeh its ok since.
