I've located & snapped photos of all 50 Monkey Mosaics but is the final random event available for me?
I've read that the Monkey Mosaics mission is only available for "returning" players. I'm playing the game on PC for the first time so as far as I know I'm not a "returning" player. But I also read that the Monkey Mosaics mission is still available to PC players regardless if they're a "returning" player or not. Sure enough I was able to locate and snap photos of all 50 Monkey Mosaics. I got a confirmation & auto-save for every one of them and after snapping photos of all 50 of them, it says Trevor got new monkey clothes. Now there's supposed to be a final random event where you're supposed to snap a photo of a monkey intern. That final random event doesn't seem to be triggering for me and I'm wondering if I'm supposed to wait longer or if that random event is not available at all for me? It doesn't seem to make sense that you'd be allowed to locate & snap all 50 photos, get confirmations, get the new monkey clothes, and then not have the final random event available. Does anyone know for sure?

There's one additional requirement, you need to own one of the purchasable storage garages for the vehicle to actually appear in. The event won't trigger unless you've got one.

All of my 3 characters own their own garages (done that long time ago). So you think this mission will eventually appear for me? Again, I'm not technically a "returning" player but I heard this mission is available for all PC players (regardless of "returning" or not). I just want to know if I should keep trying and coming back to trigger it or is it unavailable to me? Because maybe it's just the 50 monkey mosaic locations that are available for PC but not the final random mission. Anyone know?

The reason I'm asking is because many random event missions throughout the game were difficult to trigger, but I eventually got them by trial & error, sleeping, changing characters, etc. I was wondering if I should bother wasting the effort to try to get this random event to spawn or is it just not available to PC players?

The easiest way to check if you are a returning player is to call the "Blimp" service from your phone.
You should get the Xero blimp spawning at LSIA or the Vinewood race track.
If it's the blue Atomic blimp, you're not a returning player.

Also, after you've completed the first mission from Beverly, you'll get a text from him, that he signed you up for the Wildlife Photo challenge, another exclusive bonus for returning players.

After the mission Mr. Philips, you'll get a text message from Ron, telling you about the Stock Car races. You should also see the respective icon on the map in Blaine county near the Yellow Jack inn.
(Tip: Finish all races early on, because for me, the icon disappeared sometime late in the endgame or after the final mission.)

This.
I think this is a requirement, because the rewarded Go Go Monkey Blista will only show up in those garages special vehicle menu, from where you can always spawn one.

According to Rockstar, "Returning Players on PlayStation®4, Xbox One and PC must have previously completed the “Prologue” mission on PlayStation®3 or Xbox 360 and played while connected to the PlayStation®Network or Xbox Live respectively." there is a way to link the account.
It is strange that you'd be able to snap the mosaics and get some of the rewards, but hmmm, does look like the actual random event might be locked.
One last thing though, I heard you should try doing it with Franklin?

Edit: Posted before I saw the above answer. Yeah, looks like it's something you're locked out of, if you didn't see any of those other things.

Actually, really the easiest way to check for returning player status is to check in Ammu-Nation if the railgun and hatchet are available (but still grayed out).

No, you can do the monkey mosaic photos with any of the three characters.
IIRC, I did most of them with Franklin, but the switched to Michael later and for the final random event.

I always had bought all 3 character's garages before though.

When I call the blimp, I get the blue Atomic one so I guess I'm not a returning player. But for the Monkey Mosaics mission, this is what it says at the GTA Wiki page:

"Monkey Mosaics are exclusive collectibles in the enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto V for players returning from the PS3 or Xbox 360 edition. PC players can access this content regardless of whether they are a returning player."

So the question is, how much of the content can PC players access? The whole thing including the final random event? Or just the part about locating the 50 monkey mosaics but no final event? Is there anyone on PC here who wasn't a returning player and got the Monkey Mosaics final random event?

Returning player content was always a ♥♥♥♥♥♥.ed move from r*.

It's never good to alienate NEW customers and make events overcomplicated. That way you will never get future customers and a long term fan basis. I'm sure many pc customers will think hard if they ever will buy into more r* games on this platform. Why would you want to support a dev with so many bugs and security problems in multiplayer?

Why would u call the pc edition "enhanced" when in reality its a broken mess with like 5% cut out content, only cause you didn't buy into crappy last gen xbox360 games.

@op Im sorry for you. This game is definitelly not for achievement hunters cause either achivs are locked out by r* or they are bugged and glitched and never trigger anyway. :steamsad:

My advice is don't waste time and move on to more customer friendly or bug free games.
I'm sure there are much better achievement friendly games out there :p

If they wanted to block the Monkey Mosaics mission from PC users, then that's fine, whatever. I'm still wondering why they're allowing PC users to locate and photograph all of the 50 Monkey Mosaic photos if they weren't going to trigger the final ending event for that. It's fine if they want to block the mission, but then why not block the ENTIRE mission and make those monkey photos unavailable in the first place?

I'm wondering if this goes further than PC users. For anyone that used the older generation consoles to play this game, the Monkey Mosaics mission was supposedly blocked. But can anyone tell me, were the 50 monkey mosaic photos available for you to photograph even though you were on an older generation console?
