Casino Heist Boring Machine

Does someone have any clue why we have to deliver the boring machine to the sewers? What does it do? Why cant we use it during the heist? Explain to me please :)

Um it opens the entrance to the sewers i guess it bugs?

Ok so after asking a bit, it creates a "shortcut" to reach the vault faster/easier. (you access the floor where the vault is located directly)

So what the point of those preparation mission for drilling mashine?
If you skip those mission you still can enter from sewers. So it basically do nothing?

You mean you enter the vault directly or in the mantrap?

(i rather shoot a few guys and do a cardswipe then drive a flatbed)
