[BUG] GTA V Not Launching - Steam
When I Click PLAY It Changes To STOP And Says That The Game Is Running, And Then Automatically Opens Rockstar Launcher In The Rockstar Launcher It Still Says PLAY ON STEAM As If The Game Hasn't Been Launched Yet.
Fixes I've Tried:
1. Clear Download Cache On Steam
2. Restart My Pc
3. Run Both Steam And Rockstar Launcher As Administrator Then Click Play
4. Reinstalling Rockstar Launcher+social Club
5. Launch In Both Gta Modes - Offline And Online
6. Relogin To Steam
Can Anyone Help Me Please?

i contacted rockstar support and it fixed it. if this doesnt work contact them and use CHAT support not email. [email takes ages]
force exit both steam and rockstar, launch ONLY rockstar and launch the game from there.
again if this doesnt work submit a ticket to rockstar here https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/200013306?step=bbe83efb

Is that supposed to be repeated over and over or a one time fix?

I think it's a case by case basis.

As for me I get the infinite "opening R* launcher" screen and it only opens after I verify the files each time.

I have found a way:

1. Run rockstar games launcher first, with steam closed.
2. From the launcher run gta 5, which will open steam.
3. The game will not open. Close rockstar games launcher which will generate an error message. Keep steam open.
4. Run gta from steam, which will generate another error message (the launcher is running, even though I just closed it)
5. Continue trying to run gta from steam 3 times. The launcher error message will appear 3 times.
6. On the fourth attempt the game will be executed.

It is ridiculous but for some reason it works.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
