FPS Drop i5 9400f rtx 2070 only 70 fps max
I got this i5 and rtx 2070 not long ago, but in 1080p I only reached 70 fps max and average like 60 fps or even 40 fps. I already updated my driver and redownload the game. Help

online?
cause online's performance is entirely based on IPC
your i5 9400f is just a lower clocked i3 9100f (my cpu) with 2 extra cores.

70-80fps in online with a 18+ player count session is completely "normal" for your specs
online just kinda runs like poo.

Really low clock speed cpu (3.9ghz allcore?) so thats your limiting factor to get higher frames per second.

Yes, it is online but even in offline mode when Lamar and Franklin first mission, only got around 70 fps

I will try to increase my cpu bro thanks

Where can I overclock my cpu when it is a non OC CPU and I also use B360 Motherboard

post the rest of your specs please

i5-9400F Max Turbo Frequency 4.10 GHz

check if your cpu is boosting to 4.10

you can do this with task manager

unless u tell OP to only turn one core on, you only achieve 4.0 Ghz in 4 cores and 3.9 Ghz in normal circumstance, can be tweaked with limiter removal (throttlestop) but i couldn't imagine the heat control

isn't 4.1 it's max singlecore boost for the i5 9400f?
cause on my i3 9100f "max boost" is 4.2ghz but that's only singlecore it sits at 4ghz all core
i thought the i5 9400f sits 3.9ghz all core.

the i5 9400f is sitting at 3.9ghz in this video.

70 is sufficient.

The most you'll be able to do is Adjust the"BCLK" frequency
just be mindful that adjusting that number
also adjusts many other things that run off the "BCLK" frequency
as quoted by a Toms Hardware Moderator

Base Clock overclocking is where you can overclock CPUs and memory via manual manipulation of the base clock multiplier. The only drawback of this kind of overclocking is that it greatly increases instability of not just your CPU, but your memory and quite possibly your PCIE lanes which would be a mess.

BCLK overclocking has come a far ways though, certain motherboards can isolate the BCLK so only your CPU and RAM are being overclocked.

run prime95

my 6700 max turbo is 4.2 and it hits 4.2 on all cores/threads under heavy cpu load

i have, and my i3 9100f still only goes to 4.0ghz all core (the cpuz bench and games also sit at 4.0ghz all core)

it will boost 1 core to 4.2ghz in singlecore test for prime 95/cpuz
while the rest remain idle at 4.0ghz, but any multicore load (so anything other then benchmarks) has my cpu sit at 4.0 locked. with no movement at all. (atleast within 10mhz)

i don't own a i5 9400f so i can't test that one, but from the looks of things, it seems to max out at 3.9ghz all core. and will boost a singlecore to 4.1ghz
