does your cars drive faster than his ones when you use the same model ?
I'm not sure what his specs are, but he was able to run GTA on very high pretty smoothly, it's just he lags when interacting with other people. Also, for driving, we can't really tell because if we get too close to him, we lag and so does he. I'm thinking its a problem with like his connnection within GTA because he plays other games online completely fine.
I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea what that means, but is there a way to see if that's the problem and how would we fix it?
It starts with good gaming hardware. You need a good internet connection with enough down and upload for the online part. The third think is the software part, everything has to be configured correctly it starts with your router and end with the firewall and antivirus setting at your pc.
My friend followed the article and opened his ports with GTA and it worked and no longer lags, thank you again for your help!
And now, still 4 years later this problem exists... What exactly helped you fix it? That started happening when I wiped my whole pc including the OS. It's understandable if you don't remember :D it' been a long time, it'll be surprising if somebody even sees this comment.
*There are three general classifications of NAT types:
OPEN: Can play games with any other NAT type.
MODERATE: Can play games with open or moderate NAT types.
STRICT: Can only play against open NAT types.
If your NAT type is Strict, you will be unable to make a direct connection with most players. This will cause problems such as higher latency (lag), smaller session sizes, longer wait times, and more frequent disconnections. When connection conflicts occur, the game may choose to drop the player with the strictest NAT type.*
Hopefully if this is your issue you are able to resolve it, best of luck
you really should start your own post and not revive a 4 year old thread
Its your NAT type. your network firewall

use this link to setup port forwarding. don't download any software, skip the ads and it will give you step by step instructions on how to set it up and what ports it needs.
