Steam overlay on Epic Games version of game
I'm one of the people who got GTA for free from Epic, and I've found it annoying having to go without the Steam overlay. I've been unable to find any video or guide that actually added the overlay - simply adding "PlayGTAV.exe" to my library results in a timed-out authentication with Epic. Advice?

I haven't tried this with GTAV, since I own that via Steam, but in the case of RDR2, that I bought from Rockstar directly, I was able to get the Steam overlay working there by adding the Rockstar Launcher executable.

Specifically this - (Drive):\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Launcher\LauncherPatcher.exe

Can't promise that will work since you have the added layer of Epic, but I do hope it does.

From what I've read - they add epic launcher itself to steam as non-steam game.
(or at least - that was the idea to get controllers working)

Caped Crusader, you are awesome. It's working pretty much perfectly.

Happy to help! Glad it wasn't too complicated with Epic and it being a different game.

3 years later... trying this method. I got Social Club error in the game reads: "Social Club failed to initialize. Error code: 1023."

This worked! Note that the "Start In" has to be the Launcher folder, not the Win32 folder.
