What's the difference between running GTA V in Steam vs Epic game launcher
What will be the major difference
Will there be difference in performance
Will there be any benefits in running it in steam
Does steam has more player base ?

lol epic games and steam are DRM for the R* launcher
where the game is actually owned.
same game, same servers. same literally everything.

You have the Steam Overlay and Steam Achievements but other than that there is no difference. If you do not have the Criminal Enterprise pack on Steam you can get all the benefits of it from the Epic version then uninstall the Epic version and continue playing on Steam.

lol Epic doesn't even have forums... not that this is a detriment as some would of the Epic haters would attempt to claim.

I think only GTA III is bets version on Steam, then lets say San Andreas is the worst version on Steam. Vice City idk as i dont care, and GTA as far as im aware there is no info about versions.

it says the steam requirement for GTA V is 72 gb while on epic games it's 106 gb is this accurate?

That would only depend on the overhead that the Steam client and the Epic Games Launcher would cause.
Both are negligible compared to the game's resource requirements.

Also, all versions require the Rockstar Games Launcher, so technically, you would get the best performance with the Rockstar version.

Not really, because Social Club and Rockstar Games Launcher are used for matchmaking, stats tracking, online character account and achievements.

The only advantage of Steam would be their uncomplicated return policy.

There is only one PC version with one player base, regardless which distributor you buy from.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
