I'm sorry, but I posted the video, and it's self evident that doesn't happen. did you even bother to watch it?
And yes, I've "run this game at least once while being online before".
No I didn't watch it, because i have bad internet ant therefore running it in offline mode very often. It dedinetely works, onsce the game got activated via steam.
From time to time you have toe refresh the log in (preferably after the computer crashed, but it's been working for 5 years now.
despite you having video proof i can confirm that its very easy to put social club and steam into offline mode and play the game in singleplayer.
I tried already,after hibernate the game still runs but with no sound, for 2 times.
Bro, tried then talk, if you start steam in offline mode and boot GTA V , it will shows Activation Required, it doesn't care if you had or not run this game for once, it needs internet everytime for steam.
Dude, I just did, and it worked again.
I started my Computer being completely offline (WiFi turned OFF).
I launched steam -> Steam told me no connection and asked for starttinng in offline mode.
Request confermed -> Steam starting in olline mode.
After that I started GTA5 via steam.
-> Box appears requesting to chose between "Play GTA 5 "or "Play GTA5 Online".
-> Select "play GTA 5"
-> hit "play button"
Rockstar social Club launches and tries connenting to R* game server
-> SC can't connect to R* game server
-> SC switches to offline mode
-> Story mode is being loaded.
So It seems working as intented. At least it does for me.
If it doesn't work for others it's pretty much a configuration issue,
incorrect. they even have a command to start in offline mode every time using a command line.
though this is not necessary if you have no internet.
But then when I try, it needs internet everytime when GTA V is loading inside
this is my screenshot, that's what what happen if i start everythings in offline
