(Singleplayer) I have never modded GTA V before and need help getting it to work.
I'm trying to use OpenIV, ScriptHook, Nexus, and whatever else I needed but when I go back to story mode and hit F4 it tells me that my Script Directory is missing, how can I fix this?

Make a script folder in the gtav folder? As for nexus... the mod manager? I wouldn't bother. If it is something else - you'll have to link it. OpenIV is simple - install it. Scripthook is simple - extra the 2 files (or 3) and drop in gtav folder. Overwrite whatever.

Nothing in those 2 otherwise should be complaining about a scripts folder.
Scripthookdotnet will want a scripts folder. Again, depends what else you installed.

Wouldn't bother with vortex either tbh. SHV.net does also has 3rd party requirements, as do many other mods and I doubt that it has advanced enough to get to that point where it correctly installs those. If it does - I'd be surprised because so many mods I've downloaded definitely don't come with files in archive to define installation (or deal with 3rd party files added, that are outdated, meaning to remember to not install, or install newest last to overwrite).

Gtav modding is 'confusing' but at the same time simply easy to do manually once your understand how it works (especially openiv). Most mods on gta5-mods have instructions on the page, and/or in the archives, or for openiv - some have .oiv's to automatically install. Of course, this doesn't rule out 3rd party av/security/windows defender, or overlays messing with your mods either.

Personally, I'd 100% clean the folder - and start with 1 mod at a time, and test each after each. Something like - scripthook (and native trainer that comes with - test), shvdotnet, test, simple shvdotnet script like weapons on back or something, test. Openiv, test, simple texture/model replacement or whatever (using a 'mods' wtih openiv will make things easier), test. Should also be generating log files in your gtav folder to see things working too.
