That particular error you're getting is quite common with VPN's especially Nord.
Plus more than enough sites are detecting VPN's now and they essentially are giving you the single fingered salute.
So - like the previous poster suggested, "don't use a vpn".
maybe if you understood how a VPN works you would not make ignorant statements like you did.
You say the particular error he got is common, but he never even said what error he was getting. So can you read minds? maybe stay in school kid.
Here's link to they FAQ: https://windscribe.com/faq
The biggest thing I guess is using a faster encryption type Like 160 bit openvpn. may work a little better or try a different server.
He did say what they could do with it...
(So if u get them mad they can boot u.)
they can kick you from the lobby is what he is saying.
You do know that Wireshark is free software, right?
I can run it and capture all the packets of all traffic on my PC's NIC, including every mesh network client that connects to me. It's like public information when you're playing a P2P/mesh network game.
VPN is against the ToS because you're obfuscating your location. R* wants to know where you are to verify and enforce regional pricing.
No, but when you use it to buy outside your region, it is. They'll take your whole library away over it.
Same with R*. They want to know if you're trying to play a cheap Russian-localized copy of the game from the US/EU/UK/AUS and using a VPN would protect you from exposing your true location, that's one part of why VPNs are against the ToS and have been proven in some cases to be bannable.
R* is also in a tenuous position because the game is outright banned for sale due to content or regulated because of the gambling aspect in many countries, that's their second liability, and it's R* who are expected to enforce those bans and they can't do that if people are just VPN'ing in and connecting from a different country to get around it. That's why they just ban all discovered VPN users without a second thought.
They're either a) protecting profits or b) they have no choice because they'd be violating international law to allow people to play the game from inside banned countries. How can they enforce either if they allow VPNs?
Honestly, that's the smart way to use a VPN. Just use an endpoint in your own locale so simple methods of capture don't reveal your IP and you benefit from the encryption tunnel in cases of usernames or passwords being sent as plain text.
Using one to play GTAV from China, where it's been banned for 3+ years, or to get cheaper prices on games from Steam by obfuscating your native country, is not.
