1% GPU Usage, 80% CPU... wtf? [SOLVED]
Hi all, need some help here. As the title says, the game is only using 0.1% GPU, and almost completely taking up CPU. I've tried updating my GPU drivers, restarting my PC, and changing a setting in Nvidia's Control Panel (changed Power options to Maximum Performance). Here are my specs:

CPU: i5-7600 (3.5GHz)
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB (overclocked)
RAM: 16GB DDR4

By the way, this problem only began (from what I know) a few hours ago, when I installed the Logitech Gaming Software and was forced into a restart.

Any help on the matter would be appreciated!

The game is heavy on cpu, so 80%+ on a quad core is normal.

How are you looking at usage? Task manager is broken for gpu usage with latest win 10 build.

As I said, the issue only started happening today, my PC has been overclocked for over 5 months.

I'd try downloading a program to force GTA use random number of CPU cores and play with that around for a bit, 3,1 see if it changes anything (Process Lasso for example)

Also can go to C:\Users\*User*\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\(believe its) "005C8894" moving cfg.dat and pc_settings.bin somewhere (it'll reset all the settings)
Might be power settings freaking out
Not an expert opinion though at all

sounds like that 'gaming software' is really hitting the mark

Set physx to gpu it is Originally on auto.

Open nvidia control panel.

Click on Set PhysX configuration, open the drop down menu and select your NVIDIA card (the name is dependent on your exact card) as the PhysX processor. Click Apply and you are done.

Oh.. ok. I was using Task Manager. And yeah, I'm getting the usual framerates, maybe a bit lower. But they REALLY drop when I get the cops on me for some reason.

I guess the issue was task manager...
