Rockstar Editor Issues

I've been trying to create a cool movie with Rockstar Editor, but it has been a horrible experience so far. For starters, the entire game crashes unexpectedly while I'm recording. This has happened several times and I have no idea why. Then in the Rockstar editor, when I hit enter to edit a clip, it gets stuck loading. Sometimes I am able to edit my clips, but I am usually forced to exit the game after ten minutes of waiting. Why is it so hard to use the Rockstar editor? Am I doing something wrong? I haven't had a lot of issues with my editor itself.. but on times where the file got corrupted, I was also stuck in an endless loading of a clip that eventually failed or crashed the game. I had to delete all those clips and start over which was annoying.

Are you using any mods in your game? Some mods can also make the game unstable. Your game appears to be crashing during filming clips and I just think those files somehow corrupted and won't allow you to modify them in your editor.

I have noticed an increase in threads regarding GTA V crashing a lot lately for quite a number of people. I am no stranger when it comes to crashing a lot, or game stops responding and unexpectedly shuts down. I can understand your frustration.

I hope you can find someone who can help you. Just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone when it comes to crashes etc. I love making movies but the unstable nature of the game makes it difficult, and off putting. But I keep going the best I can. Maybe even a fresh reinstall could help.

Otherwise, perhaps contacting Rockstar Support or Trouble Shooter could be of some benefit.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I do use some mods. I use Simple Trainer, Native Trainer, Menyoo and Map Editor mostly. Could these be causing any issues with the editor?

I believe they can. We recently had a download for gta v and with that it broke the scripthookV etc. We have to wait until they issue an update for that.

Was this issue with your Rockstar Editor happening prior to this recent download?

I actually just started using the editor a couple of days ago. I also have the newest version of ScriptHookV (February 10th).

The Editor has been pretty behaved on the most part. But I haven't really checked it out now for the past month or so. I will have to check it out later today or tomorrow and see if its stable for me. Its possible the recent update broke that part.

I will let you know how I go with that.

Hello, I have been using the Rockstar Editor since 2015 with no problems, and for some reason today (November 22 2020) I was trying to make a video and the second clip always crashes at export, even though I could preview that clip and edit the camera angles and everything..
Last time I exported a video using Rockstar Editor was December 2019 so IDK what updates the Editor received.....

they are updating the game so that your hacks wont work. now before you start yelling (I AM NOT HACKING HOW DARE YOU I AM JUST MAKING MOVIES) hear me out. the game, the software doesn't know that. it thinks (if 'think') can be used to describe what is going on, that you are hacking it even tho you are doing something relatively benign. the sad fact is that the activities of the hackers/modders are creating consequences for the people like you guys who are just trying to do something fun and interesting. i have also wanted to make gtav movies, but have shied away from it for this very fact. going to sound like bs, but i have never hacked or modded this game,and have alot invested in it, which is why "shied away" in the first place. dont wanna lose my 18900000 hard earned gta$ :) i hope the issues are solvable for you guys, who are doing nothing wrong. i just thought i'd throw out a possible explanation as to why you are having troubles....

I don't have any trainer, mod or file or dll in my game files that was not provided by Rockstar Games, my game is completely vanilla so idk why I'm crashing, I'm thinking because this clip is from an older version of the game or something....
