New update, game copy with mods won't launch
Hi there! Been a while since i played gta with mods. Today i wanted to play with them and try out others but i had an update on my original copy on steam of gta (i have a modded version in another folder to protect me from getting banned even thought i don't play online with the modded version). But, since then, i get an error message that says i have to open the game with PlayGTAV.exe. But, i can't find this file. So i tried to open it with the launcher, no more success. Can anyone help me resolve my problem? Thank you!

Edit: The game only launch when i open it with the launcher but it log me online and it opens the vanilla version of gta... So no mod enabled (i even redownloaded my mods to make sure they were up to date). The thing i don't understand is the game connecting to my online account when i did some cmd to disable any connection from the modded version with the server so i don't get banned. I guess it's because i use the launcher which connect me directly to my account. Yet i still don't understand why it doesn't work anymore with GTAV.exe file like before.

What have you tried exactly? - scofflineonly? Verifying your files via Steam? Launching from Steam? PlayGTAV.exe should be in your main folder for the game. Starting from Steam shouldn't disable your single player mods. You can also set the game to load straight into Story Mode, bypassing the landing screen, whether or not you are in online or offline mode. As long as you don't press the button to go into GTA Online you will be fine.

I don't get why rockstar hates mods so much it keeps the game alive for people who dont want to do the trashy online

Pretty sure it's not Rockstar that is anti-mod.

I searched for the PlayGTAV.exe and it's in there. For the process i used. If i remember correctly (because someone helped me in the process of the commands) i copied a version of the game in another HD and wrote commands so it cuts link to the original game and the servers. You're telling me theres other way? What is the most simple and secure way for it to works? We can maybe IM or voice chat so the process can be easier :)

No, sorry. I don't do those things. I just use -scofflineonly under Steam's launch options for GTA V. It's in the game properties when you right click on the title in Steam. As for having it load straight into story mode, that is in the game's own settings.

Online is peer to peer, no servers involved, or cheating would be less of an issue. :/

It just works. Doesn't matter if I'm in online or offline mode.
