GTA V Pause menu/Phone not loading and Freezes.
So after not playing GTA for some months I came back happy to play a stable game again. (I had the game for 2+ years and it never had ANY issues). I stopped playing during the Nightclub update (more specifically, during the time Solomun was an available DJ and before the others were added). I don't know how many updates I missed, but now I am at version 1.44

The first time it froze after ~15 mins. I just thought "that's strange" and launched the game again only for it to freeze again after ~15 mins. It looks like this: The game abruptly freezes (image only, sound keeps on playing but I won't hear my car crash into a wall for example) and I am unable to alt+tab or open task manager (task manager opens but doesn't show any processes). As soon as I try anything the screen just goes black. Only way to close it is to press the windows button and right click the icon on the task bar > close window. (I haven't tried alt+f4 now that I think of it). It seems to happen at random locations in the game.

The other issue I noticed is that the pause menu sometimes doesn't open. The screen goes blurry, like it does normally in the pause menu, but the menu itself doesn't show up. Instead, I get an infinite loading circle. Other in-game HUD elements also fail to show up, like the phone, the "mission accomplished" notifications, my text chat (other peoples chat is still visible) and so on...
Note that they are NOT invisible, they completely fail to load (ex. I press up to bring up my phone, nothing happens, and pressing space still uses the handbrake). These HUD bugs seems to happen at random, and sometimes fix themselves only to happen again after some time.

My specs:
i5-6600k @ 3.5GHz
MSI Z170A PC MATE Motherboard
8GB RAM
250GB SSD (~50% free)
1TB HDD (~50% free) <---Game installed here
NVidia GTX 1060 6GB
Windows 10 Education OS

I had no problems whatsoever in the past so I suspect some update to be the issue (GTA or NVidia). I did not change much on my system since the time I was able to play without issues.
Temperatures (<60°C GPU, <50°C CPU) and frame rates (steady 60) are normal. I experimented with different settings (in-game and NVidia), reinstalled and verified to no avail. Also I have the standalone version and not the Steam version.

Does anyone else experience the same issues? Since when? Have you found the root of the problem or a solution?

I was going to check if the problem solved itself, before replying to you, but after 25 minutes in-game (10 minutes loading screen and 15 actually playing) I got a call telling me to buy the Nightclub, a call telling me to join some war races, a call telling me to buy a hangar, a call telling me to buy the trailer truck, got killed 10 times in a row by some random hydra, had a christmas tree and an UFO attached to my character and couldn't even change lobby because I was blown up by some hacker immediately upon respawning. All that in 15 minutes.
The online game is literally UNPLAYABLE, unless you know how to get yourself a "solo" public lobby (blocking certain ports using Windows Firewall) but even then, I still get those constant pop-up ads telling me to spend my money on ♥♥♥♥ I couldn't care less about and it doesn't solve the hour long loading screens either.
It only took 15 minutes of playing, to remind me of all the reasons I stopped playing this grindfest, toxic ridden community of a game in the first place.

TL;DR: I don't know if the problem still exists, but at this point I don't even care anymore. the game is dead for me either way.
