Microphone troubles
I love it when i can't find a solution on the internet. Hopefully i'll get something out of this.

My microphone doesnt' seem to work for GTA Online, i've been trying to hook it up and i've checked the settings both on the quick menu and the actual pause menu enough for me to go insane. Last time i tried i'm fairly sure the game set my actual headphones to the mic section and my microphone to my speakers section. Yes, i have taken to the internet and YouTube plenty of times and i still can't find a actual solution, most of it being somewhat in the click bait side of GTA's videos on youtube just for me actually looking up this particular issue in YouTube. I've looked on Google plenty of times and still haven't come up with anything.
I'm honestly dumb struck as this is a perfectly new headset and the device is set up properly on Windows audio settings i've even set my Steam to use the current mic i am using and still nothing as i recently used it with two other people when Discord was down.

If anybody can provide some actual help i'd be like being blessed by the Norse god's.

Make sure you microphone is not muted - either in Windows/OS settings or physically if your headset has a toggle switch to mute the mic.

Make sure your settings in Windows/OS are set correctly.

Make sure you are plugging your mic/headset into the correct port(s).
First, make this headset microphone work in Windows itself. If it's done, In GTA turn on in voce chat 2 options, which makes avaible some certain options, then change micro volume to max.

My mic does have a external mute but i'm not stupid enough to try to use a mic in game without having the mute switched off.

So i had the same issue until i found the reason why. It seems somehow the game turned down my volume for in game voice chat, and also the input for voice.

I thought I turned it up when messing with it but actually didn't.

click the right side of the bar and it will increase the mic input so it will pick up your voice.

Seems to work fine on FiveM for some random reason.

which is why i told you to check the GTA settings. GTA v settings have nothing to do with fiveM. if a settings is stoppping you from using the mic in GTA, but it works in another game, that tells you it is definatly a setting in GTAV

Its somethign with GTA. nothing with your MIC... so we need to start looking at GTA settings. Make sure your rfiends voice chat volume is turned up so he can hear you. for some reason it seems after a update to the game my voice chat volume was turned all the way down along with my mic levels also. when i looked at the settings they looked right, but after clicking the right* side of the bar for mic level and voice chat level I found I had it all the way down. not sure how it got turned down though,. this is what fixed it for me.. also make sure the microphone being used in GTA settings is the microphone your using

Everyone turns off voice chat I dont think it even lets you use your VOIP if everyone in the lobby has it disabled.
