How long does it take to load Online?

I've been waiting for 13 minutes now. Is this normal? If not, does anyone know a fix?

Yeah i haven't played any Online yet. I got this on sale Sunday.

I was waiting for 30 minutes after creating my 2nd character and it won't load. So my advice is that go to story mode and then go to online and by this way you can get into online just in couple of minutes.

This is the only fastest way to enter GTA V Online I have discovered.

NEVER ENTER DIRECTLY TO ONLINE. It will take took much time to load the game.

I've tried this before but I may not have waited long enough. Just to clarify, these are the steps, right?

-When the Steam notification to play comes up click "Play GTA V"

-Once on Main Menu, click "Story Mode" (this does load for me in <5 minutes)

-Press esc

-Go to the "Online" tab

-Click "Choose Character"

-Press enter to join Online

When I did this i was still hit with long loading screen. I may have been too impatient? I'll try again tommorow.

bought this last april and loading the story mode first and entering online still seems to be the most reliable way to get online, hanging load screens hit me at least 50% of the attempts to load directly into online. go r* :P

how do people wait 20 min on loading screen. for me max 5 min. dont shift tab and let it load.

So I should go to Story Mode first, then choose my character and try to load. I shouldn't shift+tab or alt+tab I'm guessing

resource monitor will become your best friend, while playing gta it solve literally all connection issues

use it everytime it takes longer than 5 mins to load into the game

gta don't like any other overlays, everytime you use one while loading, it will interrupt the process and your joining will be delayed

sometimes it helps to use alt+enter to switch from fullscreen to window mode
for example when you get stucked in the terrorbyte and it won't load the missionscreen from the computer.

I'll read that guide and definitely quit shift+tabbing. I'm already in windowed mode.
