Blitz Play: Is Hotel Assasination a prerequisite?
I planned to leave the assasinations for the end in order to make max cash. But after setting up everything I just got a call from Lester to go see him before the Blitz Play job.

A little research gave some signs that maybe I need to do Hotel Assasination first. Is that it?

If true, that is a bummer. I only have about 30mil (or more) per character and I was hoping to get to at least 50 or 60 before doing the assasinations in order to net between 1.5 and 2.1 billion at the end. I certainly can do a ton of stock investing to bring it up... but that is going to take several boring hours in real life while watching TV. Will do it if I have to, but I'd rather not.

Or is there a way to do Blitz Play without doing the Hotel Assasination?

---

Also, I found almost nothing about investing before and after Blitz Play. My instincts tell me that Grouppe Sechs should tank after the heist and thus be a good investment, and (not sure of this) it seems that Merrywheather is its competition so it might be good to invest in before the heist. Any advice on this part?

Thanks.

I did the stock market grinding to take the 30mil to 60 mil on my poorest character. Man, is Hotel Assassination profitable.

- Franklin went from 60 mil to 170 mil. Then I figured I'd do Tinkle and it took me to 230 mil.
- Micheal ended up at 360 mil.

And I have not done any of the main assassinations. I might have to get creative and spend money like crazy to stay under 2.1bil by the time I'm done.

Now I can go back to focusing on Blitz Play.

So, anybody know what is the right investments before and after Blitz Play?

- For after it would seem to be Grouppe Sechs. Is that right?

- And am I right that Merryweather is Grouppe Sechs competition and thus who I should invest in before the heist?

Hmmm... I think I might say never mind. I did further research and although Gruppe Sechs and Merryweather are competitors in theory, it seems that hitting one does not affect either its own stock or its competitor. I guess it is a design flaw.

I highly recommend picking up the free Cheetah and Entity XF too (not obvious in the Wiki but any upgrades made are not charged to either character after the mission, so load up):

But it got major spoilers ^^

That's the true "answered thread" option.
GL story mode is really fun !

You can get all the pre-mission money you want very quickly by diving for the Pacific Bluffs Briefcase ($25,000 each time - save on the surface then load it again in Story Mode). Not as much fun to play it through as intended though.

Edit: it respawns anyway, the saves just make it much quicker.

Yep, I read those guides long ago. I used taxi rides on Franklin before I discovered them. Then used the briefcases for my first 500k. After that it was all the random events, strangers and frieks, hobbies and collectibles plus the stock market to get to 60 mil before the Hotel Assassination. Now I have more money than I know what to do with, and I have not even started on most heists and assassinations.

What is kind of surprising is that none of those guides (or the many others I read) cover investing before and after Blitz Play. It very much looks like this is a bugged heist that doesn't affect the stocks. I guess I will test and find out.

When people talk about "leaving the assassinations till after the final story mission", they mean all except the Hotel Assassination.

I followed this guide, which yielded me $2.1 billion for Michael and $1.5 billion for Franklin and Trevor.
