PC shuts down when i play gta 5
So as the title says, pc shuts down and boots back up after a few seconds after playing gta 5, i ran furmark and i played both bf1 and ac origins on ultra, so i doubt its the hardware, it has to be some kind of a software problem. My specs are : Cerebrus 1070ti, i5 8400, 2x8gb 2400mhz kingston, lc power cosmo lc cc 120, cooler master b600 ver2.. And rockstar support is also terrible, so any ideas ? Thanks

I think that means it overheated.

Which part ? And how come it doesnt overheat on furmark or ac origins or bf1, which all 3 are more stressing for the pc than gta5, especially stress test

It's just a guess. It depends on how fast it shuts down. But outside of a power cut or component failing the pc shouldn't just shut down without warning

Well for example i played ac origins for 10 hours straight couple of days in a row, ran stress test for 1 hour, and played bf1 for like 5 hours every day. All 3 of those are stronger graphical wise than gta 5, which is what i dont understand

try to lower cpu temperature (add one more fan blowing on it or increase rpm)

Just because they are prettier doesn't mean they work better. Gta v heats my pc significantly more than prettier games.

Actually, sounds like a failing power supply, not overheating

Thats what i was thinking, but im pretty sure the same thing would happen during furmark test, which is why im certain its drivers

Theres one more really interesting thing, when i change directx from 11 to 10.1 or 10, in game, the crashes stop

So what have you tried to fix the problem so far?

if the problem only happens on dx11 then either there is some kind of issue with the direct x files, or the graphics driver isnt working as it should.
Ofcourse there i also the possibility that some of the files of gta are damaged and causing the game to crash.

Im currently reinstalling all gpu drivers, gta5 and looking if for some reason gpu is oc'd by default, and if all that doent work i have no idea, its not the dx11 files for sure, because when it started happening i didnt even have dx11 installed, so i installed it and nothing changed, ive read on google that that can cause a problem because the steam overlay is dx10 supported and it conflicts with dx11 in game, but then how come other people play with dx11 on, its so annoying that i just cant see what is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem, because whocrashed and logs arent showing ♥♥♥♥

A year ago, so last summer, I had the same problem. Turned out it was indeed overheating. Try to increase airflow. Simply taking one side off the case could help. AC Origins and BF1 are more GPU-heavy, GTAO is more CPU- and RAM-heavy.

Il try that if all the stuff i did didnt fix it, currently its downloading so.. I just dont get how any of this happens during gta5 and not during stress tests, cause ive read that stress tests go further than any game would on "stressing" the pc.

Direct X 11 has been a default part of window since windows 8 and is not something you can install or uninstall through normal means (and shouldnt try to either).
(well unless you are running windows 7, but since your pc seems rather new i figured that would be unlikely.)

About the overlay, i can confirm the game works fine here on dx11 with the overlay enabled,
but you can always try to disable the overlay in steam and see if that changes anything.

Did you check the windows logs to see if they contain any useful info?

If in the end you cannot figure out what is causing this formatting the disk and installing a fresh copy of windows might be the only solution left to try.
