[modded] Story mode crashes while loading.. caused by mods folder

So I haven't played for about three or four months. tried to play and the game keeps crashing while loading. First there was an error saying I needed to update Scripthook, which I did, but now it has something to do with my mods folder... I know this because if I remove or simply rename the folder, the game loads fine, but Menyoo will not spawn any of the mods. When I try to spawn a saved vehicle I get an "Error: model invalid" this is the result of having renamed the mods folder to get the game to load. Using Menyoo, I can spawn some regular vehicles, (any that are native to the normal game content), but I cannot spawn any of the DLC vehicles that you normally can with Menyoo... They spawn, but only for a second, then they disappear again. Downloaded Vehicle mods will not spawn at all. [Error: model invalid] because the Mods folder is rnamed.. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Regarding crash - You haven't played for 3-4 months which means you probably don't have the latest update.rpf in your mods folder with any appropriate changes made for it to work with the rest of your stuff.

Regarding DLC vehicles~ Works fine for me -

You already have it - in gtav / update folder. The vanilla version of the file. If you go to either in openIV it should alert of you the version difference. Then you'll need to redo your changes to the update.rpf - "usually" that is just the dlclist.xml. Who knows - so many mods avail.

Yeah I used to have to over-write the dlclist XML...gonna have to relearn the steps lol! its been a while since I installed a mod, so I haven't used open IV is some time. Thanks!

so I replaced the Update rpf and x64 file in my mods folder with copies of the ones in my root folder. This allows the game to load without hangups or crashing, but when I try to use Menyoo to spawn vehicles, they are either invalid or they spawn and disappear within a few seconds. What am I missing? its been too long since I used openIV to install mods and I'm forgetting the process. Sorry.. :(

Depends what vehicles you are trying to spawn... vehicles you personally addded?
Then they are gone unless you did infact adjust the dlclist.xml with their install info...
The install process for said mods "should" be on their download page, or in the readme...

Vehicles that spawn and disappear in a few seconds are generally.. dlc vehicles.
I previously linked a mod that I use - and has no issues spawning dlc vehicles.
If it is a problem with menyoo - beats me. I don't use/like it. Maybe it needs an update too.

OK thanks for the info.. I will look at what spawns and what doesn't mods I've installed previously included adding the item to dlclist.xml with notepad, then uploading that back into the mods update/updaterpf folder with OpenIV. I did not previously have any issue spawning DLC vehicles, but now they disappear. I may look into your prior link. thank you. the vehicles I coulddnt get to spawn which were coming up as invalid models were "saved vehicles" saved with Menyoo after making adjustments to them. removing dorrs or adding dirt effects or paint colors or what have you. I will try spawning more vehicles and see what happens. Hopefully being that my DLClist XML is formatted correctly, the installed mods will work. Thanks for hanging in there with me.

I figured out the issue! before I moved over my update and x64 folders from the main directory I backed up the ones that were in my mods folder. The new copies did not contain all the mods from the dlc packs folder. once I pulled the mods from the backed up dlcpacks folder and pasted them into the dlcpacks folder that was just updated in the mods folder they worked again. Thanks for helping me out! my fault for being out of the game for a while and forgetting the nuances.
