discord and other audio problems when running gta 5

For some reason im getting stuttering discord because of running gta. the chats often get very laggy and freeze most of the time. I have a hotkey set to mute and when I press it only works 5 sec after i press it.I think I can rule out my internet with 180mbps download and 15mbps upload.

You are asking too much of your RAM.

You need updated audio drivers.

I know Im years late but I have the same problem. 16 GB of RAM. I have an i5-3570k and that seems to be the issue. GTA 5 always puts me at 99-100% CPU usage

Nothing you can do but to get a better CPU and avoid public lobbies with many players. The more players in the session, the higher your CPU usage will be and more stuttering when talking through Discord.
You could also crank up your resolution to put more stress in your GPU rather than your CPU.

Same problems with top of the line hardware. It's not an issue with limited ram or cpu.

The problme is with gta input delay, an easy way of explaining it is with an exaple: that when you tab out of gta the volume stops, you can't hear anymore sound from the game, the same appens when you open gta, the sound cuts of for discord, thats what i have found, i don't have a solution and i think the probelm as beeing going on for a wile now, it as something to do with gta not woking wile tab out
