Gta 5 random lag spikes and crashes.
Hello,

i was playing gta 5 when i noticed it sometimes droped down from 60 fps to like 15. And besides that it crashed 3 times and bsod my latptop once http://imgur.com/LvmdAtX.

My specs are:
  • Intel Core I7-7700HQ @ 280Ghz
  • 8 Gb ram
  • GeForce GTX 1050 2GB ram
  • Intel HD Graphics 630 (used to run simple stuff like windows)
  • Samsung PCIE ssd 119.24 GB (used to store stuff like windows and documents)
  • 1TB HDD (where the game is running from)

I do have my page file set to:
  • Start sise: 400
  • Max sise: 12000

I really hope that this is somthing that i can fix because i ilke the game and i want to play this a bit more without the lagg and random crashes

I suggest all 3 being done. (I'd also set pagefile back to system managed)

1-Using/used mods? Heck, even if you haven't used mods... do this- (steam version)
Rightclick gtav in steam, properties, local files, browse local files-
Delete anything that is NOT a folder and is NOT a .RPF file. Verify cache. (steam version)
(that means rightclick gtav in steam, properties, local files, verify integrity of game cache)
(-------------R* version - there is a link on my profile for cleaning the R* version folder -.-)

2-Still have issues?~
Give this link a read(then the link/STEPS inside). It helps fix most of the COMMON issues, and helps you find/post logs/crashes- (YES, POST the logs/crash reports for more specific fixes/help)

3-As for the lag/fps drops ---
Rightclick gta5.exe, properties, compatability, disable fullscreen optimizations (if win10).
Else--- read this link (and the link inside of it/at bottom - for sections 3, and 2)

Yeah, just recently I noticed the game would freeze for a few seconds or have low fps but sometimes on the freezes, the game would crash to desktop.

It's infrequent enough that it doesn't actually interfere much, like today it crashed but I wanted to get off anyway. Hopefully the next update fixes this.

Unlikely, seeing as my laptop never overheats and even has a ultra vent mode

Man I just logged in to THANK YOU, I have proper rig to run GTA V without problem in high graphics and yet I was having little stuttering and frame drops over and over which made the gameplay a pain in the ass sometimes, I just did the DISABLE FULLSCREEN OPTIMIZATION and it worked MAGICALLY! Thanks man!!! Thanks a lot, now I can play normally again. :steamhappy: GG.

I hate to drag up the past and an almost 2 year old thread but i've been looking for weeks online now for a resolution to the lag and crashing problem, ive tried everything, uninstalling graphics card drivers, even formatting my laptop and this solution fixed everything.

thank you.
