Nightshark drive by weapons
Planning to buy a vehicle to drive around in free roam that can resist explosives. The most explosive resistant vehicles are Insurgent, Insurgent Pickup (Custom), and Nightshark. Of all of these, I'm looking at buying the Nighshark, as it is faster.

Don't use price to justify what to buy. I understand the standard Insurgent is like the Nightshark and is about half its price. However, I'm looking for whats best for escaping tryhards and griefers. I'd assume faster is better.

Now, my question is if I can use drive by weapons and/or throw explosives from the Nightshark. I've been looking at reviews on Youtube and when it comes to drive by weapons, not everyone says the same thing. Some say you can use drive by weapons if you do not equip the window plating, but not explosives. Some say you can use drive by weapons AND explosives if you do not equip the window plating. Several Youtubers state you CANNOT use drive by weapons at all, regardless of the window plating and it is fixed to the crappy mounted guns. Can someone clear this up?

Also, I know someone might mention to use the MOC cab since it is THE most explosive resistant vehicle in the game. However, the under steer drives me nuts sometimes and it is impractical when it comes to traversing the map quickly.

TL;DR - Can I use drive by weapons and/or explosive in a Nightshark? If so, is drive by weapons only usable if there is no window plating?

Thanks

I don't own a Nightshark so I can't tell for sure.
IIRC, the ones in the Motor Wars adversary mode let you switch between the built-in machine guns and your handguns, but no thrown explosives.
No idea what armor those have equipped.

The best explosion resistant vehicle is the Stromberg by the way, which can survive 5 missiles.
Plus it has machine guns, missiles and torpedos.
It's a fast sports car and a submarine.

You cannot use driveby weapons when install window plate. Only the front machine gun is usable.

Thanks for the response. Stromberg is only good for dealing with Deluxos and Oppressors. Jets and Tanks? Not so much. A dive bomb or explosive cannon strafe or a single shot from a Khanjali obliterates the Stromberg, so know its limits. Generally speaking, I meant best explosive resistant vehicle as in being able to resist a lot of missiles, to the point where you can go from garage to garage or business and ignore the incoming fire. Nightshark and Insurgent variants can take 24 homing missiles.

BTW, your response on being able to switch to your handgun (probably) answers my question. I would like feedback from a Nightshark user but this tells me using drive by weapons is possible. Thanks

it depends on the chosen armor level similiar to the insurgent pickup custom

normal insurgent grants best protection, when you want to use explosives

it is good old rock paper scissor
i still wonder how you want to flee from a griefer
they normally use a mix of all combat vehicles
no big deal to destroy a nightshark with a oppressor tank etc... you know the cars flip you get stucked and destroyed ... better go for faggio

So no explosives from Nightshark at all? That's a shame.

I would go with the night shark, since that one is faster and doesn't have a special map icon like either one of the insurgents (some players will see this like a challenge, and come after you). Also with windowplating, you can only use the mounted gun (these suck) and without you can use your regular weapons.

Dont know about explosives.

He said: "However, I'm looking for whats best for escaping tryhards and griefers." Then you dont really need guns. Then you just need a fast rocketproof care so you can get outta there. I don't think he is planning on griefing himself. Otherwise I would advice the oppressor.

Try insurgent pickup with no windows, everyone inside can throw sticky bombs or use guns except the one on the minigun seat, but that's self explanatory. I think the people on the back seats can use assault rifles

The Nightshark armor plating on the windshield are misplaced, so you can only see the half right of the road in front of you :steamfacepalm:.

I have a Stromberg, for the Oppresor/Deluxo greiefers, Armoured Kuroma for missions and NPC/AI, an armoured Schafter which is good but not very bullet proof and one of my faves is the Duke of Death - just love that car.

Might pick up an Insurgent as well though.

I kind of switch between them all - they are all fun.
